I'm sure there are 700 threads on this exact subject on the front page alone and I'm going to get hit with a barrage of "use the search feature" "use your ears" and of course the regular "real Dj's only spin standing on one leg hopping up and down on half a milk crate while patting his head and rubbing his stomach, doing quintuple click triple flare-crab-spider-nutsack scratches with his left elbow on 23 year old technics and taping his 173 hour ripped-from-original-limited edition-press only sets on reel to reel straight through with no sound effects or talking and he definitely wouldn't even think of playing a song that women at a dance club might like because that's just not keeping it real"...
but I say fuck it...it's worth the punishment if it saves me going track by track.
But in all seriousness, I've just got into this ID tagging thing to the point where I'm addicted and being that I'm an alcoholic my memory just can't comprehend that many dates... is there a way in a regular media player (or Itunes) that I can retrieve the years of release in one mass sweep rather than me having to sit there rooting through record crates and googling thousands of discographies?

i use a program called ieatbrainz (you can fnd it at www.versiontrack.com) for mac.. it gets most of the tags right. It uses the mp3 "thumb print" to get the track names off several sorces.. but it wont always get it right b/c there could be a song with a very very simular thumbprint or it cant find any info on that track (alot of remixes are like this) but it got like 90% right for me. i would sugest not to do alot at one time so you can check to make sure it gotg the right info.

Wow Disturbed this thing is cool. If only I wasn't such a cheapskate and had a paypal to register I'd be set (they only let you do 5 at a time with the unregistered)
But handy nonetheless.
Peace.
