I'm new to DJ'in,and i'm looking into buying a used set up(via craigslist).
I already did a forum search and found a great thread on what to look for when buying used technics and it was very helpful, thank you.

But now what should I look for when buying the used mixer(I'm looking for a vestax pmc pro)? also if anyone else can add on to what to look for when buying used technics, i'd appreciate it. thanks

ive had several mixers including vestax pmc's.

buy a rane ttm 56- way better. sounds better, longer lasting, better custmer service, better resale value, less distortion, more adjustable, more fun.

you may pay a little more but its definately worth it.

tecnhics havent changed all that much in decades. SL 1210 m5 g's are the newest and have the most features. dont get anything older than technic SL 1200 mk 2's. anything before that is basically vintage.

buying used shit:

dont buy anything from anyone who doesn't have some kind of customer feedback thats available for review. you dont want to be some jerks next victim. thats why ebay usually works. im not sure about craigs list. it doesn't look that realiable unless your do business in person.

try to get something with the original packaging and paperwork warranty, manuals etc.
its a good sign that equipment is newer and has been cared for.

definitely go for the tm56 or 57. i recently started djing and got the vestax pmc pro. later, after learning, getting better and trying my friends ttm56 i realized the ttm56 is a better mixer so i exchanged my pmc pro for the ttm6 and am way happier. go with the 56 or 57. youll just end up exchanging i promise
