Unable to install 1.6.3

I have a macbook 2 gig processor and currently have version 1.6.2 build 16227 as well as 1.7.0 beta 2 and trying to install 1.6.3 and when i goto install it, it tells me that the version i am try to install an application where a newer application exists on my computer and that the application that I will install will replace the old one. I say yes and continue but it still doens't install 1.6.3 ... in my application i have the name of my scratchlive changed to ScratchLive 1.6.2 ... I tried this before putting the beta as well as after it, and the same result. Basically I am unable to install 1.6.3 ... can someone please help

Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening?

That happened to me. Uninstall 1.7, and install 1.6.3. Than rename it to something else like 1.6.3 Final, and upgrade it to 1.7. And Bam! You have both versions.

It's probably thinking 1.7 is the newer version and won't install. I'd say delete both 1.6.2 and 1.7 beta first, then try to install 1.6.3 and see if that works. Then redownload and install 1.7.

I second Woody's idea. That's what I did and it worked. I didn't uninstall 1.6.2. I just left it on there and it treated 1.6.3 like an upgrade instead of a clean install.
