is it just me or do 4 out of 5 venues not have anywhere for you to set your laptop. i find myself always having to make stands with all sorts of random items like phonebooks and cases of soda water. at one of my weekly gigs i now place my laptop where the left turntable should be, and the left tt on a shelf that is underneath the booth. so it looks like i'm playing with one turntable, and my left hand is beneath the booth, while i cue my songs on that side it looks like i'm being self intimate

Yeah - Gizmo (skratchworks.com) has one. I had a nosey at it and it seems to be the mutts nutts... (well, as far as laptop stands go anyway)
It's quite heavy for it's size and quite solid, has a shelf for the external HDD and folds up well tidy. Pricey though - esecially for those of us in old blighty. U getz what u payz for though.

Trying to keep the prices as low as possible! The only way to do that though, is build in them in high quantities.
Dont know how sturdy the uber is, this one is sturdy enough...
Im taking orders through email... I might set up a simple web order interface if orders get out of hand.... (crossing fingers)

I do mobile work, say i place the stand in my coffin under the mixer, does it come apart and put back together easily at the bottom so i can close my coffin leave the bottom part in & pack the top part elsewhere or do i have to remove the whole unit from under the mixer? I curently use a ICURVE because i place it on my mixer & its easy to remove but would like something higher.

ironically, i just went in to the weekly spot last night, and to my amazement (and joy) the owners just built an entirely new dj booth, with enough room for everything... a small shelf above the tt's at about chestlevel that laptops can sit on, with cdj's flanking them on either side. jyeaaaah
i've heard people talking about the icurve and i had no idea that it was a laptop stand.
