USB drops out

I'm having problems with my USB. The USB red led on my controller sometimes fades out for a second. Its rare but when it does happen it forces me to re-cue since the platters stop responding.
When it happens the CPU is around 50% use and memory around 50% use (the laptop has 2GB of ram).
Do you think I don't have enough resources in the computer? Or do you think there is a USB related issue?

NS7 with v1.4.x of ITCH. I am upgrading now to 1.5.x to see if helps. I'll have to play with it for a day or two to see if it helped. Maybe I should open a support ticket? Is the support with Serato pretty good? I just started out 3 days ago.

1.5 didn't solve the issue. I guess I'll check my USB driver in the morning & contact support.

Mac or PC ? if PC use a dpc latency checker www.thesycon.de to check what `s with a drop its at your computer first ..
try to refresh all the drivers you have ...
and last but not least

Kunstoff I ran thesycon tool. It says my latency is too high to run live audio applications. I went thru and disabled every piece of hardware just about except my hard drive keyboard mouse and screen. Still says latency is too high. I guess I will try installing windows XP and see if that changes anything.

When I run that tool on my main machine I get all green bars. I guess if it comes down to it I can try the NS7 out on that computer. But kind of hard to take that one to gigs, so obviously want to hammer my laptop into shape if possible.
Also getting a mac laptop wouldn't necessarily solve it. I saw plenty of support tickets people having the same issue on mac. Its just these cheapo laptops. I got it at best buy, it was a toshiba. I should have ordered a nicer one online.

I have installed XP and my DPC latency stayed at 200 steady. I thought this was still high even though it was all green bars, so I tried flipping the "wifi off" switch on my laptop. This made the bars go red because windows kept trying to connect.
After I disabled the wifi at the software level under the "device manager" in Windows XP, DPC latency holding steady at 15!! I am very excited that ITCH will run smoothly now.
I am very thankful but frankly pissed off (not at you) that the community is resolving it faster than support. The support guy doesn't speak good English, takes a week between responses, and is just reading some canned material. These are my observations of how support has handled my ticket so far. If it weren't for you Kunststoff I would still be in their incompetent hands. Not the kind of support I expected on a $1,800 purchase from Serato.

As a tip - turn off a battery control (ACPI ) and latency will be probaly even less and a screen to low resolution ( no need for Itch )
Tonight I played a 5 hours long non stop - 3 time got a electricity break off on main ampliefer (was stormy and rainy )- but not Itch

That's cool. So someone could write a .php script to update their website live while they are doing a gig (if their system had enough resources to do that while streaming music). Don't understand why companies don't document stuff like this.
Thanks for all the help.
