57 recording mix distorts suggestions ?

Playing with the recording on the 57 it seems that after I do a mix on every instance after the first couple of songs in a set the recording is distorted and starts to sound like crap. The bass gets crackly and loses quality. The first song sounds good but as I mix in the next it seems to get worse and worse further into the mix.

Its possible to be clipping on the recording side of it. I let it just barely hit the red.
