Anyone??

i just went through this... it would stop at 100% then just sit there right? if your on mac this is what i did... i ripped it with mac the ripper, did full disc extract then converted the vob files in handbrake. i just finished doing this

that's great but unfortunately im not on a mac, i tried converting the ambients but nothing happens it works perfectly fine for ripping the videos but not the ambients it just acts like it's gonna convert then disappears.

use DVD decryptor on PC to extract the chapters to VOB on titles 2,3 and 4 of the DVD (tiltle 1 is typically the music videos, the others are the three ambients)

then load these VOBs into handbrake.... for some reason Handbrake doesn't read the ambient tiltles....

but handbrake actually does for me, i can go to 2, 3, and 4 they show as all 30 sec clips. When I try to convert 2, 3, or 4 they all do the same thing.

That's all they are. They aren't full 4 min videos. They are only clips and when played in VSL they will loop.

I understand that, handbrake does not allow me to convert them. the conversion process just hangs up. Is there some other program to convert them?

You can try MPEG Streamclip. It's free for the program, but in order to load and/or convert the vob file you will need the MPEG component which you can buy from Apple for 19 bucks. You can also use the AVISynth/IVTC method which uses all free programs.

seriously? there's no other program to just convert a 30 second ambient clip. I'm in shock. There's got to be a program out there than can convert the ambient vob. Has anyone tried converting the ambients w/ dj extractor?

rip them to VOB first like I said. problem solved and takes about 10 extra seconds

i use dj extractor and it extracts the ambients just fine. i convert manually though using Brett's IVTC method. And yes i know the ambients don't need IVTC, but i have a semi-automated process.

i have tried dj extractor, it said i needed dvd decrypter, i have some shadow dancer dvd's and can convert them to mp4 just fine, and they aren't constant loops so i'll just use those for now.

Bringing this back up again as i'm ripping Promo Only UK discs and not sure how to extract the chapters as seperate files. I'm experimenting.




Also I found a few months ago that Handbrake doesn't like looped chapters. If you try to rip one it just hangs. This became apparent when ripping a custom Phil Bearman an logo we had made. He uses looped DVD's.

...forgot to say that the ambients are looped!
