Hi i just bought a new 57 today and plugged everything in.

Tracks play perfect on the left deck, but when i play the same tracks on the right deck, it sounds like sh!t and distorted. i put a regular audio cd in my right cdj and it plays with no interference. but when i put in my control cd and load and play a track, it sounds distorted again.

any suggestions? or did i just purchase a defected 57???

is the dipswitch in back on phono or line?

not that I'm offering advice, but I'm having a similar issue! It sounds almost like an underwater tinny sound on the highs, especially on overproduced tracks like Usher "OMG", but not as bad on others. It's the same whether I'm playing a file in REL or INT mode.

is it really quiet or is it close to a normal volume?

I'm having this SAME issue on the same side, the right. Have swapped cables, computers, mixers, mp3s, USBs and everything. Still distortion on right side. Thought it was the SL-1 box since I don't hear the noise when its unplugged and listen through computer, but when I plugged SL-1 into another computer (old crappy computer with low memory) I had no noise problems. Has to be an issue in the software. Recently began hearing the issue in both 1.9.2 and 2.0

do you guys have the i5/i7 macbook pros?

I had a similar issue at a nightclub I djed at. My right side kept sounding funny even in internal mode. Even when I got home and tested it on my own 57 it did the same. Come to find out that the club 57 kept turning on the flanger on the right side and it save it on my serato. Now when I spin there I always have to turn that effect off. May want to check there as well.
