Jay-R 12:29 AM - 30 December, 2006
as for me, i havn't traveled too far. i used to do a gig that required me to drive about 150 miles each way. i got paid pretty good, but the drive sucked.

how far have you guys traveled? did you get any kind of extra pay for you travel?

i used to drive to Philly every Saturday for a few months. I live about 15min outiside of NY, it was probably 80 or 90 miles 1 way and the pay was garbage but i used to get mad groupie love from the College broads, so it was worth it

400 miles by car, about 6 hours with gas, munchie & pee breaks. As for extra pay, I just make sure hotel, meals, etc are paid for.

300 miles last month and this weekend again. From New Mexico to Arizona.

250 miles each way, from LA to LV for the SEMA 2004 Afterparty @ Risque.

No extra pay - just did it to say I did.

Funny thing about that trip was that the party was on Thursday night. As soon as I get back to LA on Friday morning, my friend calls me up and tells me to pack a bag and to be ready to head out by that night. Him and his girl are eloping to Vegas and the wedding is scheduled for Saturday. I still don't miss the 15 fwy.

Oh, I jst remembered! LA to SF would be the longest distance I've ever driven for a gig. Glas Kat in 2003, good times...
Dj KaGeN 2:24 AM - 30 December, 2006
OC to Las Vegas.... and the gig kinda blew too. Note to self: spin the afterparty for a UFC fighter that wins... not the one knocked out in 2 minutes of the first round.
DJ.ReFRESH 2:28 AM - 30 December, 2006
^^ lol!

makes me think about how sports teams have all the "World Champions of <Year>" apparel made for them and ready to wear right after the anticipated win. i wonder what happens to the gear for the losing team? lol

From OC to Mexicali, Mexico. That's a 3 1/2 hr drive. I was going to go visit my grandma, than I said fuck it, I contacted some promoters there, and BAM! I played at their rave. It was awesome!
ChULo 7:12 AM - 30 December, 2006
From St. Louis MO to Villanueva Zacatecas Mexico, 5 1/2 hour flight, 45 minute cab ride from the airport to the club. It was during a carnival in December, my cousin’s best friend owned the club and wanted "northerner music" to attract the Mexican American crowed that came down from the States during El Carnaval.

Let see I live in Cincinnati, OH and I drove to the Boom Boom Room in Windsor Cananda!! 5 1/2 hours away through mad traffic and construction, but holy shit did I have a blast!!! Friends in the car made it a blast!!! All worth it and I got to hang out with Benny Benassi!!

Couple of times a year from LA to San Fran. At first it was cool and fun to do road trips. But after lugging equipment around, crazy jammed traffic gettin worse every year, and gettin old.. maybe I rather fly and ship the equipment by a pallet (ha ha... will get damaged and who's paying for expensive shipping?!)

Twin citiies minnesota to Glendive montana it was one of the worst drives ever, but gig was fun
djivanlopez.com 10:48 AM - 17 January, 2007
North Hills to Victorville. It was for a quinceanera and it seemed like all of Victorville was in attendance.

Client paid hotel... decided to stay overnight, but lugged in all "expensive" equipment into room. Funny as hell, being asked by everyone who saw us unloading at the hotel to DJ an impromptu after party in their room... "c'mon bro, we'll give you all the beer you want and my cousin thinks you're cute" ... too funny!
DJ_Mike_Coquilla 4:35 AM - 18 January, 2007
