Forum Memeber Most Likely to Help You When You Really Need It:
BEsides Nik, -> Konix. Almost EVERYTIME when i say "Hey, i know that, i'll tell him how to fix his problem".... Konix already answered it :)
Most Helpful Rane/SSL Employee:
Don't forget Shaun!
He deserves a f#ckin trophy, for talkin with me like an hour on the phone back in 2004, few hours before i bought my SL1 on a holiday-trip in NY. I asked tons of questions with my poor english-skills, even the most ridiculous verbalized ones - i was extremly nervous (like asking if the poweradapter will work in Europe in such way:
"The thing with that line, you put into those thing in the wall with the 2 tiny holes, where ACDC comes out, will this work in Europe, even if we have like other ACDC - much more power" - followed by a "Yes, sure it will work" and at least 3x "Are you sure? " from my side)
Every question was answered very nice and kindly, and he described everything so i understood it.....
Thanks again Shaun :)
Most funny Rane/SSL Employee, and probably best choice to get stoned with
Sam
Best Mixtape made by a Forum Member
DEFINITELY Monk-A's "Alpha Male Posturing". Soooo damn fresh. Track-selection, scratches, transitions... everything superb. Added to my All-Time favourite-list.

Best Mixtape made by a Forum Member:

Sixxx don't you mean "Final CRASH"...........
Anyone seen the new computer DJ'ing software out, think it's called "CUE." Saw it advertised in the new "Scratch" magazine. It's by NUMARK, it allows you to mix video and audio in the same interface........They made it for WINDOWS ONLY.......
I'm like "WOW, Numark can't even make DECENT MIXERS, how they gonna waste consumers time and money by trying to beat out SSL.

i think im the only one on the planet.. who has nothing bad to say about numark mixers!
my dxm-06 has been mullered non-stop for 3 years now... and its still great... ocassional fader bleed if i leave the mixer uncovered, but a blast of air sorts it - its still a contact fader, after all.

Okay, dude ain't that bad except for him relying on the screen, but that Torq demo was way better than what he does with tables. Does torq auto beatmatching work that well? He should sell his TT's and his TTM57 and stick with Torq and the Trigger Finger.
Another thing, is he serving Christ or serving drinks? Look at all those bottles on the shelf of the first video.

So that's why people like torq, that thing will mix everything for you. What's the dj world coming to. That's pretty weak in my opinion. Why is he even using headphones, it's not like he needs to beat match.

Not hating on BriChi - but climbing up the ass of a company that has obviously made a serious boo boo in their design of the specific motherboard that EFFECTS the use of SSL... Hmmm.. Perhaps on the Mac boards I'd support this gesture and deliver a cape and an "S" on his chest, but not here.
BriChi
11:04 PM - 10 January, 2007
I don't expect anyone to climb up my ass either (that would hurt),,,but, in my offense, i narrowed this down to a flaw that can easily be resolvedin osx, and i put a lot of time into figuring this out because i knew a lot of people were waiting for someone to figure to do so. I don't want a cape and I didn't do this for people to praise me, But i'm on this board to help people and I think the amount of days i put into this in troubleshooting the problem and narrowing it down to one specific issue in osx has answered alot of questions for people including myself. Thanks guys

Kagen, I think that if you read the full thread of the problem and troubleshooting done you would have seen that I put a lot of time into figuring out a "Known issue" on the forum. I figured the problem out and the cause of it and recently I have put it into Apple's hands so they can change some coding in OSX. Calling Apple and nagging them that my sl1 box doesn't work well with my Macbook is not what I did and I think that's the impression you are under. I didn't call Apple until I found out why the problem is happening. People are not thanking me just because I put a phone call into Apple, Anyone could have done that, People have thanked me because I narrowed down a major bug on one of the ports on the Macbook line. Again, I don't need anyone to thank me, I just did this to help the Macbook people out, I just wish you wouldn;t play it off like "Why are you all thanking brichi just because he's nagging Apple". It's a little more involved than that and shouldn't be played off as no big deal. I'm not trying to start a war over this because personally I can care less, but I don't want to get blown off on something that i put a lot of time into, If that's what's going to happen on this forum in the future, then I might as well not even be on to try and help out

BriChi - fist of all, I HAVE READ THAT THREAD, and the other like it.
Here is where my issue starts.
I know the bug exists when it is used with other software packages. Beleive it or not, I have been doing my homework. I base my opinions on products based on the experiences of other folks on the board going thru their trials and tribulations. I will say this, I truly believe you are an asset to the serato communuity, I think you're self appointented task of getting thru to mac has a lot of merit (I respect your dedication in trying to make Apple aware that they need to fix a blatent fuck up). I'm not down playing you by any means. But you have to admit, the issue is mac born and not of Serato's doing. That is the only reason I spoke up.

I'm not down playing you by any means. But you have to admit, the issue is mac born and not of Serato's doing. That is the only reason I spoke up.

I was not suggesting BriChi should get a big red "S" and a cape (unless capes are your thing), I was thinking more along the lines of Spiderman, what with all of the quips and such...

That's true. Although it now serves as like, a voting service--root for your favourite feature-wish! It lets the mods know the most popular feature we'd all like to see next. I'm always trying to pump up MIDI in there when I get the chance.

Hi this is DJ Praise aka 2006 nominee:
Everybody entitled to their own opinion but I'm suprised at the negative energy directed towards me here. I thought a DJ forum was where people were encouraged to learn and not degraded. I've never claimed to be even an average DJ. I just started spinnning last year and am a newb. I own a software consulting business and wish I could practice more. I post on YouTube because my friends ask me to and it helps me learn. I occassionally get feedback that helps.
I say I'm spinning to serve Christ is because I feel God's leading me to use DJ'ing to serve others. I started DJ'ing because my friends asked me to. Some didn't have enough money for a wedding DJ and others wanted a DJ for their charitable event (Team in Training). I turn down offers to DJ at clubs/bars because I don't want to support some of the shady stuff that happens there (drunkness, drugs etc.). I say this not to brag but to help you understand where I'm coming from.
I agree that the choice of music isn't the most edifying. I love hip-hop beats but not the content. I struggle with this. I'm not perfect - that's what makes me a believer of Jesus Christ. I admit to be a sinner (who struggles) and needs forgiveness for my sins. My current plan is to incorporate some Christian artists and hope to do entire remixes in the future. Like I said I just started so I'm just getting used to everything.
If you want to learn more my faith beyond the vids then check out my blog jchan.spaces.live.com
As you can see by the dancing in my videos I love to DJ. I'm not going to stop and hopefully by God's grace will get better.

christ or no christ, you still need to practice more, I saw vast improvement from you first video to the most recent video, but ehhh, youre still shaky. Ppl are just bitter and pissed that a newb like you can all of the sudden get into DJing and learn to mix with waveforms, while most of us had to take months, even years to perfect the mix. People are hating, me included, but you made a nice little post here, so I will TRY not to hate- no promises tho.

DJ Praise, I've been DJ'ing for a while now and it's one thing I've come to realize. Many DJs are a very stuck-up sort. They'll make rude, crass comments on these dj forums, securely hid behind user id's. Funny thing is many who make the negative comments are probably only great in their on minds. Some will have the balls to speak up and at least try and offer constructive criticism, but many just don't have the mental capacity. Keep on practicing dood, and keep posting your vids. You're a good honest kid who really loves what he does and that's all that matters. Thanks for having the guts to come on this forum and speak up for yourself.

Hey, i nominated you... i also have to congratulate you on the courage it took to come on here and speak out directly.
My problem isnt that i think im a better dj than you, or that i have videos to post of that evidence, you may well be ten times better.
You're new to dj'ing.. well done, you're doing well and you are brave to post videos of urself playin on youtube, not sure i would.
Its the 'djing in the name of christ' thing that gets me.

DJ Praise,
The video I saw was interesting. You have alot of potential, but as I've seen in other posts it is obvious you have not put in the practice (the time or the passion) I have been a DJ for 10 years, I have been where you are...new toys and a little knowlege are a nasty combo. You have to learn to crawl before you can walk. I am saying nothing about your "set list" picking music comes with experiance in front of crowds...it's the way your "mixes" were put together...have you heard the term "train Wreck"? Those mixes could've been alot cleaner. Also you shouldn't scratch, just to do it, Have a purpose(just my opinion). Keep practicing, not posting videos. If you are looking for pointers, not "you suck" messages send me a message at my My Space...www.myspace.com
Either way, good luck to you, and God Bless.
