For those of you spinning Serato with Control Records...

What do you do if for WHATEVER REASON, you need to play a CD?

Can you put it in your laptop and play it?
DJJOHNNYM 9:05 PM - 22 December, 2006
Assuming you haven't already ripped it to Serato....

Yes you can put an audio CD in your laptop's drive, and it will show up in the crate area. Just drag the song to a deck, and you got vinyl control over the CD. Only thing is if it's an audio CD, the the crate will only show track 1, 2, 3, etc, so you got know which song is which track on the CD.

Wow, Serato didn't miss a beat...AND you can control it with the vinyl too?

I'm sold.

Thanks.

Also, when you load up a track from the cd, let Serato complete the overview on the track befor you play it (if you can).

don't try this with a crappy computer. i do it all the time (not by choice, more by circumstance) and i've never had a problem. but i've seen people pop in a cd in their laptop cd drive and play the cd with serato and have trouble. i would not recommend this as a primary playback method. like i said though, i've personally never had a problem with it.

Yes you can...

I do this all the time when MCs come with the performance CDs.
