If you are having any problems with this site, with playing tracks from this site in Scratch LIVE, or previewing them in any other media player, please let us know!

Sam - is it acceptable use to utilize some batch downloading tool instead of selecting manually?
ABM 2:58 PM - 27 December, 2006
I think I answered my own question by reading the T&C's again. :-) Disregard, nothing to see here.

It's okay to use a download manager.

At some point we'll also be providing ZIPs of each release, to make downloading easier.

Thought you guys should know you have some sort of cookie clash between this forum and the scratch live forum. It seems if your logged into one the other forum says "you must have cookies on to log in" or words to that effect but my cookies are turned on. When i clear my cookie cache i can get in, but not both at the same time.

PS this site is the bomb, thanks for your support serato, another bonus on top of the already excellent TTM57SL. I will definitely be playing these tracks in my club gigs. Can't wait for some dance/house tracks to pop up
Jeca 7:27 PM - 27 December, 2006
I tested the tracks in serato.
They worked all except two. I willtry to redownload them.

But it does´nt work to regulate the gain/volume the tracks with mp3gain.
That´s really sad, because i leveled all my tracks at 93dB. And the whitelabel tracks are all about 100 or 99.
Thats too loud for me and i´m getting clipping.
Jeca 7:36 PM - 27 December, 2006
ok, checked it again, busta rhymes how do it over doesn´t work
Killbill 8:14 PM - 27 December, 2006
This is really nice, but 32kbps is just too low. That's the only downer for me. Otherwise Serato has HipHop DJ's in a chokehold for the 07'
dj dawn 8:36 PM - 27 December, 2006
320kbps is pretty high if you ask me!

No, i'm talking about if you play them let's say in itunes, or any other mp3 player, it's at 32kbps. 320kbps via scratchlive is good, i'm not fussin about that.
dj dawn 9:26 PM - 27 December, 2006
Aah I see! Then I get your point! But if the 32 kbps setting is the reason why we get the music for free I say let it be 32! But of course at least 64 would be nice!
dj dawn 9:35 PM - 27 December, 2006
Make whitelabel.net strictly for SSL owners only (hardware serial # required) and we can get a little bit higher quality on the files outside of SSL without having to worry about the music getting in the wrong hands of non DJs! I doubt that people would buy and use SSL just to get some free promo music. But it's a good thing that we don't need to vote, comment or anything else to get the music. You should be able to download the music if you own SSL and that should be enough!

If we all demand that our promoters put their music on Whitelabel.net we could get a one and only source to get our promo music from!
Talrinys 9:42 PM - 27 December, 2006
Well i'm using FinalScratch 2.0 currently DJ Dawn, and i'm moving to SSL, and a big part of the decision comes from this and Seratos continuing support of the community, instead of Stantons ignorance.
This gives me a nice way to get records, while also being able to move to USB instead of crappy firewire, servesr me nicely.
soulwax 9:47 PM - 27 December, 2006
the soundquality sucks compared to all my mp3s (vbr) when i play them in serato.....sounds like it would be mono !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That wouldn´t work.

Hacking an serial number would be too easy. These are real numbers in order of building i think and are not encoded or something. You would be able to enter any number and could get acces.
The other problem would be DJs that trading the songs in P2P Networks
Killbill 9:57 PM - 27 December, 2006
I don't know about you guys but, i guess i'm not gonna be using this cause the same music I play in clubs with serato is the same music I bump in my car, house, at work & everywhere I am with my ipod or through itunes. So this 32kbps is not working, I mean, digiwaxx gives the music at higher bit rates. What's wrong with that?
Talrinys 1:44 AM - 28 December, 2006
Yeah Killbill, i will probably keep my Worksessions subscription when i switch to this, but remember, this is absolutely free, costs you nothing, and will be up to date.
Besides, i usually only bump whole albums anyway, or just listen my own or other DJs mixes.

soulwax, are you using version 1.6.3? That's the first version of Scratch Live that supports playing Whitelabel.net tracks in high quality. All previous versions will only play them low quality.
dj disturbed 4:10 AM - 28 December, 2006
I say dont bitch about something that is free... you already have SSL... so a little free addition like this is sweet. The reason it is free is b/c it will only play in SSL (the lables are more willing to let you do stuff like this for DJ's in this case) as high quality. Its for promo use only.. if you want the tracks for personal listening then the record lables want to you buy the tracks b/c it does not serve the purpose they want it to serve by getting it here (to help promote the new stuff in the clubs). Personaly I think it great.... but now i wish even more that serato would work in a preveiw more (one deck in internal mode) w/ out the SSL box attached so we could prepare tacks (cue points, loops and so on) without having to set up everything

Yes, the launch of whitelabel.net makes that even more relevant - we recognize that. 2007 will be a good year for Scratch LIVE users, lots of goodies coming ;)
Talrinys 4:17 AM - 28 December, 2006
Sounds good Sam :)

And also, i do not have Serate yet but it'll be here next month :)
Can you browse whitelabel.net yet from the client, or will it be implemented? It would be awesome to see a list of artists etc. and just be able to, if not stream it then just have it downloaded.
dj disturbed 4:23 AM - 28 December, 2006
hmm maybe a little side program that you can use to set all this stuff and write it to the SSL file that SSL uses to store cue points and stuff that uses the system audio output.. that ay you dont have to add shiat to SSL to make become unstable (I know that TDJS had alot of issues with support diff soundcards and was one cause for it to be unstable)
Lambie 8:38 AM - 29 December, 2006
Hi there,

I've downloaded the lastest version of SSL and now have started to download music from the White Label site. When i play some of the wl.mp3 files, they either don't work and my SSL program crashes or the file starts out scratchy then eventually the song plays normally. The "tap" isn't set on some of those wl.mp3 files as well.

Are you guys still ironing out the bugs for the latest SSL version and the wl.mp3 files? I'm sure i have downloaded the latest complete version (version 1.6.3).

Also will "White Label" make available to download for SSL DJ's exclusive mixes and extended mixes of songs, cause most of the stuff that's available is MAINLY radio edit versions and everyone has those versions (YAWNS!).

Which doesn't make SSL DJ's any more special than the next conventional DJ.

Thanks
Lambie

Also be sure it is the official version 1.6.3 you are using, not the beta release. Matt clued me in on that one as I was dealing with the same issue.

There may have been a problem with some of the files during the last two hours - we've just fixed one problem on the server that may have corrupted some of the files as they were being downloaded.

Please try and download one of the files again and see if the new download works in Scratch LIVE. If it does, then you'll have to download the files again.

We're really sorry if you are one of the people that was affected!

the problem seems to be fixed now for me at least!
Dj Weddo 2:06 PM - 29 December, 2006
Hey Sam,
I had just down loaded 1.6.3 and it works better for me than 1.6.2.I was having Popping and cracking on162. The Bpm is not working right,i used Mix Miester. It works the best for me. The only Bad thing i had was with the display,it gliched(Almost stops) then goes back to normal but the Audio still sounds good. Question: Are we able to adjust tha Whitelabel Volume mp3s? When i used the Promo Downloads they are Slammin Loud. But my other Mp3s Vol. is lower? Also on the Track Wheels Display ,when i use the pich+/-
on my CDJ800s the Pith does not adjust to the new speed... Is this going to be offered?

Thanks And Keep up the great intel for the Future of DJing.

I have had an issue as well with a few of the tracks freezing the GUI. Again, no audio dropouts but freezing of the interface for an extended time.
dj cubicle 11:30 AM - 30 December, 2006
weddo,

i think i'm seeing the same behavior with the pitch. i noticed something funky last night like the pitch displayed was taking a while to catch up to any changes i made. i guess i never really paid attention to see if the sound was changing pitch or not.

I'm new to this Whitelable site and downloading songs. I understand that in ITunes they play in 32kbps, while in Serato they play at 320kpbs, but when I played Ease Off The Liquor by Timbaland through Serato with the use of my Rane TTM 57 SL mixer it still sounds bad (not clear, muffled) I downloaded the song on another website in 192kpbs and it sounds so much better. Am I doing something wrong?

Have you edited the tags in another program? Used Mixed in Key?

More info in our FAQ: whitelabel.net

Hi Douglas,

How are you adding the Whitelabel files to your library?

Also the VCI-300 is designed to control ITCH, not Scratch Live. Are you using ITCH?
