Other than doing E every 6 months or so I'm totally sober...I decided when I started working in bars 5 days a week itd be stupid to have a couple drinks and drive home nearly every night...it just takes one time getting pulled over to screw it all up...I never liked the taste of alcohol anyway.

yeah i don't drink when i DJ, used to get some weird comments at first then they realised i was just being professional about whati was doing.

There's a couple of reasons I don't.

The first being that I'm hired to do a job and i feel i should do that as professionally as possible, and for me that means not turnign up drinking shits loads and losing track fo the records and crowd.

The second being that i don't want to get drunk and forget/lose anything.

The third is that i guess i just enjoy being able to concentrate and do the mixing i like to do and drinking wouldn't allow me to do that.

I drink VERY OCCASIONALLY (Like a beer for every 20 cranberry juices) , but don't smoke...anything. I never fell for peer pressure, always did my own thing, hence the DJ'ing.

I also don't smoke. I actually rarely drink because i play rugby about three times a week and it messes up my fitness levels, i just let rip and go on a binge occasionally

I havent drank and done weed/E/pills in over 9 years... Sober is cool, but sucks because everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) you know drinks or smokes weed or drops E tabs. But yea, I give my drink tickets away, Unless if I want a Red Bull or Sobe Adrenaline...

When I dj... I only drink 2 and then 3 glasses of water... I have to drive 30 minutes back to the casa...

I drink! When I can at gigs too, but I don't drink to get hammered. I usually loosen up and enjoy myself more when I've got a couple in me, so I end up DJing better. Clarification though, drinking doesn't make me a better DJ, it loosens me up, which in turn makes me a better DJ.

^^^^I am the same way, at a gig 1 or 3 drinks, nice buzz just to loosen up. But when I throw a party at my house (which is once a week). I lose it and get hammered, hey I'm already home so no driving involved. Plus it's weird I always get complments when I play drunk, but thats coming from a bunch of drunks any ways so it might not mean that much.

Sometimes I drink. But just one or two drinks. I don't do drugs, so I'm all good on that one. During the summer, a manager of some venue I played at, came up to me and told me that DJ'S ARENT ALLOWED TO DRINK while they're working! I got mad, but I understood where she was coming from.

Rarely smoke and when I do it's fine cigars. Usually only once or twice a year and sometimes less.

Rarely drink but when I do it's not much. I like expensive liqour and getting drunk on $130 a bottle cognac isn't a good idea.

Never do drugs... got light-headed and hungry when the 2 guys in the front seat were smoking some weed just before a concert once. Figured if that's what I got from it I'd just hyperventilate and skip a meal.

When I work I almost never drink anything alcoholic. I've never drank more than 2 beers in a 4+ hour set, opting for cola and NA drinks instead...

Being from Cali, People dont smoke inside venues... Does it ever trip you out when you play out of state and people smoke in the venues? This has happened when Ive played in St. Louis and Las Vegas.

hell yeah! I Can't stand smoking inside the venue! I hate the smell and stench of cigarrattes. That's why I was so happy when they made it illegal to smoke at clubs back in the mid 90's. I hated getting home and my clotes smelling like cigarrattes.

I drink very conservatively nowadays. I have 2 six packs that have been sitting in my fridge for 2 months and I only had one beer out of them. When I go out, I am a social drinker and can drink quite a bit, but I usually don't, and I only drink beer if I do. I tend to start fights if I drink hard liquor and often with the largest person in the place.

I never spin drunk. I spin better sober, so I will not drink too much when I spin. I smoke cigarettes. It's a pack-a-day habit that I plan to try to kick next year. Wish I never picked up the fuckin things! I use to buy my cartons for $9 when I was in the military years ago. Now I pay 2/3 of that for one pack these days! Not to mention it's making me feel like shit... I gotta kick this shit...

Can't wait till smoking is banned here in july, its been a long time coming. Sometimes have the one pint but thats it as i drive and like to be in full control of the night.

Being drunk is soo unnatractive anyhows, i cant be the only guy who sees a stylish attractive girl at the start of the night who turns into a sweaty staggering heap by the end and thinks 'what a waste'.
