I've been using SSL now for about 3 months. Since I started using SSL most of my energy has gone toward getting my MP3's organized and tagged properly. All of my new music is in MP3 form except for my monthly subscription CD from ERG. Lately, all I've been doing is ripping CD's to my computer and tagging for Serato. I haven't taken any time to burn any of my new music to CD.If I had a gig today that didn't allow me to use Serato, I would be in trouble. The only new music I would have is what ERG sent me. I was just wondering if anyone else found themselves doing the same thing? Right now, I have CD's to burn.

gathering, organizing, tagging, and converting mp3's is about all you do for the first week you start doing it. Then when its all organized in your categories, then thats when you start mixing. But I'm pretty sure everybody went through that.

yeah it true but you always find some tracks that you didnt play in ages sometimes in years it like finding an old classic well it was for me i found about a hundred tracks that i didnt play in years and now they are in steady rotation in my sets some tracks just get better after a few years and still sound fresh.
did you find any old stuff that you ripped up from your old 12 inches?

yeah, ssl definitely turns you into a computer geek. it takes a while to get everything sorted out and get into a regular groove so you have time again to practice and go buy records. but once i was straight, i went back to my normal twice-monthly record sprees. my "new" playlist would be weak as hell without ssl, but i could still rock well with regular vinyl. i just wouldn't be able to please the "please play (fill in new crappy shit)" crowd.

how about when you have 42,000 mp3s and only half of them are tagged correctly
