Grounding Turntable / Recording Vinyl

DJ iPod 7:43 AM - 12 December, 2006
Didnt see this on the forums search for recording vinyl...

Seems like no matter what I do I've got a buzzing noise coming from my deck. I'm going straight into a soundcard but have the ground wire attached to the mixer anyhow. Also tried going from dex to power amp to soundcard, again grounded via mixer.. still getting an annoying 'buzz' that i don't want to record my vinyl with.

any ideas? going nuckin futs here.

Probably a ground loop caused from your computer's power supply. What computer and what soundcard are you using? External soundcard, built in one?

This may be either a dumb question or the solution. Are you going straight from the table into the soundcard or table to mixer to soundcard?

i've bypassed the mixer. one time was straight into soundcard, once was into a power amp into soundcard.

Use the mixer into the soundcard, your turntable puts out the wrong signal for your computer. Your mixers main outs will put out the right signal.

thanks- i just find that the signal from my mixer is kinda dirty. it's a good mixer, so not sure what the problem is. i'll sort it out though, thanks.
