It would be soo much easier if there were up and down arrows on the corner of the window to scroll music up and down. Instead of trackpad clicking and holding down the bubble in the window.

Personally, I'm surprised you guys even use the mouse. We designed it so that you can use your keyboard for everything - the trackpad is too fiddley in a performance situation. May I ask why you are not just using up and down arrows and page up/page down?

because the up and down keys are only half keys and are quite small on the powerbooks and when my fat fingers use them on the up and down i tend to hit both keys at the same time

Right now only the up/down arrow keys do anything within the playlist column. Therefore, you still have to use your mouse to go into your playlist of choice.
If you could use the right arrow to go from a playlist into it's respective contents then I would agree you could use them for almost everything. Is there another way to go into a playlist's contents that I'm not aware of (other than using the mouse or trackpad) ?
Also, using the scroll wheel on the mouse goes much faster ( mac ) than the up/down arrow keys.

Try the "Tab" key. Also, once you are in the contents of the playlist you can use ctrl-shift-up/down to change the current playlist while keeping the focus within the playlist contents.

I did not know that... I now see it's in the manual but the ctrl-shift-up/down is a little scary being that if you accidentally hit right/left instead of up/down while holding ctrl-shift you will be loading the current track onto one of the decks... hopefully not the one that's live. djkenace is right about the keys being quite small and might I add, dangerously clustered.
The tab key is the safer bet I guess... you never have to hit it more than 3 times to get back.

yep! I've done that once already while recording a mix. I reloaded the song that was playing and backcued a bit, and continued as normal. After I was done recording, I went back and edited that section out. So far, it's only happened to me one time though. I'd hate for it to happen live at a gig!

Yes!!! Arrows on the corners of windows for scrolling!!! Why not? I've never seen a scroll bar without arrows...except in SSL.

It would be better when the up and down arrows scrolled through the library if kept dem pressed. Do you wouldn't have to tap it so often to scroll down much.

What gets me is trying to drag a track or crate into the midle of the crate list and the list scrolls up and down and you cant get to the section you want... know what I mean?

Bump. From what I've seen, this hasn't been implemented even in the beta. Keyboard may be quicker but mouse is more natural and less likely to load up the wrong deck, like others have said. Having arrows would definitely help, I hate having use two fingers to try and scroll slowly.

I also would enjoy if arrows were incorporated, maybe have a box in the setup menu to turn them on and off...thanks.

I personally would never use this. I avoid using my mouse as much as possible, and the arrow/tab combination works great for me.

While we are on this subject why (oh lord why) can we not have a simple up/down button for the library when using a mouse - ala iTunes? (mac version has much better placement)

I really dislike the way I have to grab the placer and click hold - move mouse to scroll through the library - because it is so sensitive I always scroll past the point I want - this when I build overviews and drives me nuts each time.
In iTunes (mac version pictured above) the up/down right/left clickable arrows make life so much easier.
I hope the picture below explains it a little better - you know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
And millions if you catch the right stars in action....lol

I think that would look great in SSL!

Not sure.. but why dont you click in the area between the slider and the edges of the slider area to scroll?
