Ok, so I'm new to Serato, so much so that I did my first performance yesterday. (As you would expect, The Serato Rocked but I was shit!)
Anyway, So I'm at home using Serato on my XP Desktop but I run a Macbook in the Clubs. Before my Macbook arrived, I had arranged my 'Crates' on my Desktop. I have just realised to my horror that I cannot Save my 'Crates'. (ok Horror is a bit strong, Disappointment!)
Can we please have a Save and Load Crate Feature..? I appreciate that Mac and Windows use a different type of filing system, but I can't imagine it being too difficult to sort out. At least let's have a feature that allows you to Save and Load across the same platform.
Fo' Shizzle!

i would think it would be a cool feature but then again i think i know why its not implemented
on different comps your music will never be stored in the same place so the indexes will give you the file not found error(i.e. c://mp3/dmc-beat.mp3 on another computer could be h://documents and settings/user/my music/dmc-beat.mp3) unless they can make it to scan your comp to where you moved it to

Yes mate, that's exactly what I was thinking. I mean you could add in a simple script that would search for the Crate names on the computer and automatically source the music.
I guess the whole procedure could be convoluted as it would require good house keeping by the user. I mean whatever you copy onto one platform you have to make sure yourself that you copy onto the other. Otherwise the save/load function becomes redundant.
On thing that is absolutely great about serato is that I have been using the Comments column to input bpm values so that when I get to the venue I just play off the list and the comment section just gives me a reminder of what I should set the speed to. I have noticed that when I transferred my music from my pc to the mac, these values remained in the track. I was well impressed with that. Saved me a shit load of time inputting that again.
