most of the release's ive seen in the past month's have been put out by the major record companies, i dont have a problem with that (except that they put out mostly fluff) could it be that whitelabel, like radio has been compromised??i dont know im just saying..holla back

Hey Soltron,
We've had deals with three Major Labels for quite some time now, and they house a lot of the content that DJs need for their residencies and radio shows. We will continue to offer commercial/top forty music, as long as there is demand from our DJs for it.
We're still really passionate about promoting independent content, so there will be more of that coming soon for sure.
What would you like to see more of?

WL to me, was more valuable when it was mainly underground/independent/indie stuff.
I understand from a business perspective the reason to get more mainstream stuff, but that conversation (potential argument) could last for hours.
The reason I find it less valuable NOW is that it's so easy to get DRM FREE "mainstream" stuff that I have no reason to use WL for those tracks. Even with the free aspect, I would rather fork over a couple bucks a month to get the mainstream stuff sans DRM. No editing, watermarked, releases a few weeks late, and offline quality ugh...In the SF Bay if you are a month late on certain tracks...expect to get some flack.
With all the restrictions record labels put on Serato I really don't see them ever competing with major records pool for the various reasons I stated above.
So now I have to sort through WL tracks more carefully trying to figure out what I'm getting at other pools, what I'm not, and hoping some good underground stuff pops out.
Without disrespect, I have been very unreleased at the releases in the past few months. We are getting 9x more releases but maybe 1/10 are valuable to me, which unfortunately is all it takes for me to keep coming back for more (no crystal meth).
party on wayne!

note: I do not blame Serato for any of this, only the draconian business style of the major record labels.

Please make sure that Whitelabel always has commercial/top forty music. This is half the reason I justified my $1500 NS7FX....which is the bomb I might add :)
Hats off for a incredible product collaboration with Numark! I cant say enough about the ease, simplicity and fun of ITCH software by Serato!

Well, here is my 2 cents: I haven't been a member for long, but I think WL is doing what it has to do to provide the best material for ALL of us. In other words, the more stuff available, the better. However, maybe a tag can be added to the links to make it easier to identify underground or indy from mainstream, so if a member is only looking for indy stuff, he or she can go right to it.

For the record, I never thought of WL as a record pool replacement. From the beginning I have always viewed WL as a way for me to get my say (one Dj one Vote) across to labels and their AR's about what works for me in the clubs and what sucks! My $.02

You can sort by genre! There are genre tags at the bottom of the homepage. You can search for genres as well

i personally love the WL feature, i got so tired of paying for songs constantly, so my library was quite small.. but ever since i found out about it, the WL and Serato alone have promoted my Dj business by a tremendous amount. So thank you, kudos to Serato for all the stuff theyve come out with. Keep it up, but i would like to see like a top 40 download list maybe, and also a option like "download all" of some sort. Other than that, AMAZING. Serato = ♥

I think WL is doing a good job. I like all the Top 40, and a lot of the electronic. It could use more content though. I would love to have MORE great music from WL.net! I'm very glad to see so much DJ Godfather on the list as well!
