If anyone's that desperate, they can try Tonetable.

People may laugh, but I think it's a great idea. Not as a bit of MIDI or as a replacement for a TT, I'd love to have a library management tool.

I listen to the iPod all day, but the only thing I have as a memory aide on stuff I like is the star ratings, which can't be seen in SSL. It should have the option to add a song to a playlist, but doesn't, nor does it give a full breakdown of the tags. I usualy end up writing down the stuff I want to play.

Why not have a replacement for the iPod app that could handle synching to SSL, effectively just the offline player with facilities to add to crates and order tracks, add cue points and loops and edit comments.

if they're not worried about cost, they could just get a pacemaker

if you hold down the center button it'll add the track to an "on the go" playlist that shows up in itunes the next time you sync it. you could just take those tracks and put them in a crate of your choosing.

it would be awsome to have a standalone offline player for the iphone, that way you could download tracks in mass from the record pools, listen to them on the go, erase garbage your not going to play, set cue points and loops, then when you get home import the modified tracks into SL......i know it will never happen because of apples grib on the process but that would help me GREATLTY, i could set up loops and cues and have more time to work with my tracks at the gym or at my girls at work ect ect

Offline management would be nice,

Hell, I would be happy with ANY iPhone app that would let me alter track tags on the go and sync them back....

Just tried that, and it went to voice control (iPhone), annoying. I used this function on my old Nano, I seem to remember you still had to stop the track to do it.

On the iphone you have to "go to on the go" playlists
and make it from there
i dont think you can add a track to the list without going through playlists and then finding the track you want to add.
