I need help trying to figure out how to adjust the echo effect properly on my mixer. I see it has 3 adjustments...BPM, Mix, and Feedback. Can anyone help me explain what these diffrent control adjust? Usally all I do is tap the BPM's for the echo effect and turn it on. But dont hear any diffrence when I adjust anything. I read the wiki on the mixer but still kinda confused. If you could help with some info or tips that would be great. Thanks!

Whats exactly unclear? If you let me know I can add the missing details.
BPM -> obviously speed/delay, eg. after what time the echo should be played, the lower the BPM the longer the delay
Mix -> determines how much you will hear the "original" signal and the echo'ed/delayed copy. Set it to 100% dry -> no echo you can hear, set it to 100% wet -> no original signal you will hear, only the echo'ed/delayed copy.
Feedback -> sets how long the echo will take until it dies out. 100% feedback -> echo repeats infinitely, 0% feedback -> you will hear the echo only once (or never? someone correct me if I am wrong here)

Its how to set it and use it properly to sound good. Thanks for clearing the diffrent sections of it. I wanna be able to use the fx on the fly. So what I try to do is use the flex effect switch for adding the effect to prog 1 or 2 but the BPM's for the songs change. So everytime I go into the menu I have to tap the button for every diffrent song. Its just tricky for me to control and use. I guess I just need more pratice with it. Im not used to using a lot of effects. Im more into making smooth mixes but wanna try something a little diffrent to spice it up some.
Sorry to ask you but anyway you can clarify the BPM and Feedback sections a little better? Obviously mix is how much wet or dry is applied and how intense the echo is. Thanks for the help!

Did you really read my article on the wiki? It deals exactly with this problem. You dont need to tap the BPM as long as your tracks have BPMs stored already. That was the main thing of the wiki article. Maybe the article needs a complete rewrite, let me know what is unclear *exactly*.
Its sometime difficult to write such articles because you have to see it from "the other point of view", of someone who is not necesserily an expert about how to use the TTM57.
Okay, I hope numebers are not too confusing, I will use them in the explanation. LEts assume the given digit represents the volume of the echo, 0 = silence, 9 = loud/like the original signal, 5 = half the volume or something.
So if my feedback is at lets say 90%, the volumes of the echos would go like:
9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0
(the first one is at volume 9, next one 8 etc.)
If it is at 60%, the echo volumes would be:
9,6,4,2,1,0
If it is at 10%:
9,2,0
The bpm determines how long it will take until the echo kicks in.... if it as 60bpm, it will be exactly 1 second delay until the echo can be heard for the first time. If it is at 120BPM, its half a second, if its at 90bpm its 0.75seconds.
Is that clearer now?

BTW, when did you read the wiki article? I've updated it like 2 weeks ago.

Let me go read it again as I read it about 2 weeks ago. I will mess around with it some. I understand how the BPM's function has to do with the effect. This is what tells the speed of the echo effect to go in and out. The feedback is nothing but how quickly it fades in and out and the mix function is how much echo you get right? I will read up on it and see whats up. Thanks for baring with me nik!

Ok just got back. Thanks alot nik! I did not know I could right click near the joystick and customize the controls like that. What I did was add the right and left joystick to go into the effect BPM block. So now all I do is hit the joystick to the left or right and bam...BPM info in the effect ready to go. I just got this mixer a month a go and i been DJing for a year so its a big step up for me. But I have to say I love it! Now that I know how to turn it on and off quickly and set it up I need to figure out how to make it sound right and when to initiate the effect.
Another question nik...is it possible for me to hear the effect yet not play it live? Like can I cue it up in the headphones before I initiate it? How can I do this?

Yes, you're on it :)
Good question, there is a cue function, but I am not using it, would have to read up and try. MAybe nobspangle or someone else can enlighten us.
