What features would you like to see in Serato software?

I would like to see a technics style pitch control in internal mode. Does anyone ever need to use pitches beyond +/-8? The current +/-16 is overkill and makes for less than accurate settings.

Here's how i see possible changes:
- Change pitch control to +/-8
- or make a customisable pitch control
- Add a % readout next to the slider
- Also make the joystix on the 57 assignable to pitch control, using dials is a nightmare.

With these changes mixing in internal will be more accurate and user friendly.

Thoughts anyone?

I doubt many of you use internal much, but with the 57 and pitch control through the joystix it could be quite fun ;)

You can move the pitch slider in "fine" steps, hold shift down while moving the fader. Or use the other small +/- pitch slider. The range doesnt make a difference.

Sorry nik, gotta disagree man. the whole point of having a 57 is so i dont have to touch the laptop... i should be able to change the pitch at a glance in internal mode. the current range of +/-16 makes it hard to see much difference between +3 and +4 etc.

And you must agree with the having the joysix assignable to pitch control?

Also dont you think it would be advisable to have the internal pitch slider visable and adjustable while in other modes? this would save embarassing pitch changes when swapping to internal in an emergency (dusty needle etc)

I have been wanting to try doing a show with no dex and just a 57 on my lap... in it's current form, internal mode with it's inaccurate pitch control makes this really hard... at the mo i am having to pre record the breaks im using all at the same speed so i can ignore the annoying pitch.

Sorry, but I was not referring to the TTM57. It was a general answer.

Inaccurate pitch? I can control every single digit of the pitch, up to a precision of 0.01%, thats currently the internal resolution. What else can you ask for?

Well... me personally I dont care about internal mixing, but of course you are right, it should be possible to assign any function everywhere. I just wouldnt see much of a benefit if you could use the joysticks for this. Why? Because its much harder to control them with the sticks. The sticks or no pots, so, they are just 8-way switches. In other words, it would be like adjusting the pitch with a button. If you press it the pitch will move. So how would you achieve very small pitch changes? You would have to "tap" the button very quickly. I find it more convinient to turn the knobs on notch, thats much better IMHO. But thats my personal opinion :)

Id like at least ±8, ±16 & ±50 in internal mode. Also the pitched value & bpm could do with a little larger font, I know people suggested the font size before, it's just that with a akai mpd you wont se any useful pitch values on the hardware...
