Plugin: 4 internal decks

Amado 7:06 AM 15 February 2010
The plugins feature in scratch live 2.0 is great.
Like the SP-6, DJ-FX, Hardware, Ableton,
yet would really like to have a "4 internal" plugin.

Please serato,
4 internal deck plug in.
SL-1

Respectfully yours,

SL 2.0 with the rane 68 will have 4 decks, you will get 3 with the SL-3.

Thanks Laz, yes sir that is true.
Yet I am not getting a 2,500 dollar 68.
Not looking to connect 4 real turntables, as the 2 grandmasters I have
are already 1000 dollars a piece now.
I have a Korg ZERO 4, and just cannot afford that 68 kind of investment.
Between Ableton Suite 8.1, external controllers, hardware upgrades,
and Serato SL1, which was already nearly 700 dollars.

An internal 4 deck plug in should be really nice.
Activite plug in and get 4 internal decks, (stack view)
All Internal Mode, which I can then MIDI map till my hearts content.
All supported with the SL1

Keep it real, thanks man

The issue would still be outputs though, with the SL-1 you still only have the two audio outputs, I guess it would be possible to route 2 decks through each channels but that would be seriously frustrating to mix with.

hmm...
just a funny thought... but let's say you could get this done on an SL1...
the only way would be to use each line as an output.... but it would be mono... and you would need a splitter.

Channel 1 Left = Deck 1
Channel 1 Right = Deck 2
Channel 2 Left = Deck 3
Channel 2 Right = Deck 4

You would just need a way toggle the input signal. Maybe like assigning it or something.

Interesting thought.

"Advocate" that IS an interesting thought,
right- it would be mono, yet I already have a 4 channel mixer.

Channel 1 Left = Deck 1
Channel 1 Right = Deck 2
Channel 2 Left = Deck 3
Channel 2 Right = Deck 4

each one would go to its respective channel in the mixer,
or yes, split each one with a splitter to go into the stereo inputs of the 4 channel mixer.

I guess the output routing would be something the "4 Internal" Plug in would let you set up, (like the "SP-6" with its L,M,R) or ableton.

Could you some how have it developed so that you can also use the "thru" on the outputs of the SL1? The hardware may not allow for that yet at this point we are just brainstorming. If somehow the "thru" outputs could be used then there would be our 4 stereo outputs.

If anything this is very interesting conversation between Canada, Australia, and Miami, FL - nice

nope.. u want more decks, u gotta pay for it. thats why they came out with the rane 68. u want more? u gotta pay more! they are not gonna release 4 decks to sl-1. they wanna make money.

thats why im buying the 68
Dj Knockout101 3:21 AM 26 February 2010
I think they will release a new interface that can have four decks, but they aren't gone do that until the make what they want of the 68.
BillV 9:55 PM 27 February 2010
Much like Amado, I don't have 2500 to drop on a 68. And I think it's pretty unfair to SL 1 owners, particularly folks who bought in late '08 - that even 3 decks won't work unless you have an SL 3 with 2.0.

It seems pretty simple to me. Much in the same way you can assign the Sampler to L, R, or BOTH outputs, why don't you create a 3rd deck for ALL SL users that would be configurable in the same fashion? As far as midi or timecode controlling, I'd imagine being able to hot-swap to the 3rd deck would be an important feature.

You don't know how nice it would be just to have a 3rd deck on 'stand-by' for those power sets. PLEASE Serato, consider this enhancement for SL 1 users. I payed $500 for a reputable, reliable piece of equipment with promises for future enhancements. THIS IS A BIG ONE that comes STANDARD with the competition.

Come on SL 1 owners - speak up here!
Henry GQ 10:06 PM 27 February 2010
im not gonna speak up.. u want it.. pay for it.

its pretty simple, if i was serato.. i would be charging for updates! how do u expect this company to make money ? u paid for the original. and i think u should only get bug fixes!
i .. myself would rather pay for updates, that way the cheaper djs.. the ones that are whoring themselves out for 75-150 bucks a night stay in the past! and the ones that are charging 400+ are the ones that can afford the updates and push themselves to make more money cuz they are paying for more decks. samplers. loop rolls! basically the updates!

i agree with the implement of more decks on sl1, but sadly for the ones we have it, i don't think is going to happen,..like Henry GQ said... you want more pay more,.. it is the way business are conducted, if you are going to play with more equipment you have to charge more isn't it?
but sl1 has been on for a while now...they have to move on.. i just hope not as fast as apple's iphone 2g-3g-3gs-tampons pad etc.lol!
Henry GQ 9:25 AM 4 March 2010
haha true that. i just ordered the sl3, i guess i might evenetually get the rane 68, but we'll see
