Crossfader reverse in Video SL?

I got an Ecler Evo 4 to test it for a day, i was thinking of getting it for Video SL,
i can't manage to make the crossfader reverse, doesn't matter what channels are
selected, it's always the same.. Is this case with all midi assignable crossfaders,
like Pioneer djm800??? Is it possible to make the crossfader reverse in Video SL on TTM57??? I'm always having trouble with my "hamster" style, please i appreciate
any info, cause i'm about to buy a new mixer to start VJ'ing...
Thanks!!!!

Is this possible with any MIDI mixer or just the Rane? If its possible with any MIDI mixer how is it done. All I'm seeing is a place in the setup window of VSL but when i check the box nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

So I'm gonna take from the responses (or LACK of) that you cant map a button to reverse the video crossfader on the fly using VSL??
Y'all are not very friendly around here..........and yeah I know its a Saturday night............

there may be a way to do it... not sure. I'll try to remember and look at it later when I have some free time. It's fight time now though!

well, a lot of people use the 57, which just has a reverse switch, and even more just use ME.

And the point of your post is?? I've asked everywhere, Facebook, the forums here, other Serato djs and nothing........nobody can give me an answer. Your about the closest but..........I'm not using a MAC so I wont be using ME and I already have a MIDI mixer so I dont need a 57. Now if you have a NON condescending answer that'd be great.
Thanks for the time and info.

geez...
i have no wish to be condescending. it's more likely i'd just be a dick.
did you ask serato directly? it's not at all likely they will answer in this section.
best thing to do at this point is start a help request. you will definitely get an answer there.

btw i do not see any reason why on any midi mixer that has a hamster switch why it would not also reverse the video crossfade.

Lol!! Ok thanks for the answer. On my mixer (Ecler NUO4) the switch that reverses the crossfader isn't MIDI so that's why I need to map a button....
Thanks for the time.....

Now if you have a NON condescending answer that'd be great.
Wow man... nobody here is being non friendly or condescending to you. Believe me... folks around here have no problem being mean or letting you have it if they feel like it.
Just because someone may not know the answer does not mean they are not being friendly to you. In fact, no body here or anywhere owes you or anybody anything. The fact that they are taking time away from their own life to read this and respond to you at all and offer you any kind of advice is something you should be grateful for because again... nobody owes you anything.
As far as accusing people in here of not being friendly and citing your search on Facebook and everywhere else as some kind of evidence to back that up is absurd. What the hell does asking a question on Facebook and not getting an answer have to do with anybody in here?
tomatoslice has been the one person trying to offer you more help than anyone else and you keep being a jerk to him... you are the only one being not friendly by being an impatient, rude jerk.
Whit that all said, I have found a couple of ways this will work. The first is something you found but maybe didn't see what was happening.
Try it again and look at the video output and not the way the fader is moving.
When you check the reverse box in the VSL set up window you should see the video that is being shown in the output window switch although the video cross fader (transition fader) doesn't physically move in the opposite direction. It took me a few times checking that feature to see the change myself because I was looking to see the actual fader move but then noticed the video WAS switched. Start there. If you still need more help, come back with a better attitude.
You're welcome.

Ok ill give you that and please accept my apologies. I'm just frustrated, been trying to find an answer for this for like a month. As to what you recommended, yes I didn't notice it at first but it did work. It does reverse but that's not what I want. When I do what you say it stays reversed. On my mixer (Ecler NUO4) there's a switch that isn't MIDI that will reverse my crossfader. So I would like to map a button that I can press at anytime and have the VSL crossfader reverse. Hope that makes sense if needed I can make a quick video and post a link if needed.
And Thanks

Ok, you want to be able to reverse it at will. I tried a few things but don't see any easy way for now. I'll keep thinking about.. If I come up with something, I'll let you know. The only other option I can think of is assigning a couple of other buttons (if you have any midi buttons on your mixer) to the auto fade buttons so you can use those to fade when you want it in reverse. Not sure if it will work since the fader still being assigned would override it if it moved.... Not sure if the fader link button would matter if it's not on a TTM-57 or a Sixty-Eight.
You should suggest that Serato make the VSL fader reverse assignment boxes be made midi assignable in the VSL help or feature request threads.

Thanks much appreciated. I think I'll combine the autofade and the fader link, a two step process but it'll do for now.
Thanks again
