TTM 57SL, Mix Emergency, and a midi controller?

jmoney1075 9:16 PM - 2 February, 2010
Is any using the TTM 57SL, Mix Emergency, and a midi controller? If so, is it working well for you? If not do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,

J.
tomatoslice 11:34 PM - 2 February, 2010
yes, and it works very well for me.
jmoney1075 1:13 AM - 3 February, 2010
Thanks for the response. What midi controller are you using or would you recomend?
tomatoslice 1:45 AM - 3 February, 2010
oh i have so many...

oxygen 8
korg nanocontrol
launchpad
x-session pro
axiom 25

but for this application i mostly use the korg.
and actually, it's really unnecessary unless you want it for effect control.
the crossfader and up faders of the 57 are recognized by ME, so they fade video and audio.

Thanks again Tomatoslice!

U guys noticed any performance issueswhen using ME? IE. lagging audio, studdering videos or anything?
latindj 5:46 AM - 4 February, 2010
waveforms studder a bit every now and then but you can minimize it with a higher buffer setting. either way, it doesn't affect the video or audio at all.
tomatoslice 5:50 AM - 4 February, 2010
yes, i have noticed performance issues.
it runs better.
Eloy Garcia 9:50 PM - 4 February, 2010
ME and TT57SL is like gold... I have no problems.
Joshua Carl 11:45 PM - 4 February, 2010
fuckers...

always making me re-think my setup/
jmoney1075 11:51 PM - 4 February, 2010
LMFAO! How's the beta working for you Josh?
Joshua Carl 12:06 AM - 5 February, 2010
<-- follows the first rule of betas
fcprod1 12:32 AM - 5 February, 2010
Excuse my ignorance but why do you guys prefer ME over VSL? More transitions? Better video quality?
jmoney1075 1:20 AM - 5 February, 2010
Roger...Josh.
jmoney1075 1:21 AM - 5 February, 2010
I could be wrong but, it would be VSL in addition to ME.

No sheeze Eloy? Honestly never tried it. They hit me up a while (long while back) and asked if I would like to beta test but I never was able to put in the time. Might have to give it a shot.
tomatoslice 10:45 PM - 5 February, 2010
yea, better transitions and better quality. not to mention my comp runs better on me.

HELLOOOOOOOO!!!

FOGET ABOUT THE EFFECTS !!!! I HAVE THE 57SL AND VSL 2.0, AS WELL AS MIXEMERGENCY AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE ONLY REASON I GOT "ME" WAS FOR THE RECORDING OF MY SETS!!! YES RECORDING OF MY VIDEO SETS. SERATO IS COOL WITH THE EFFECTS AND THE REST, BUT MIXEMERGENCY MAKES YOU THINK TWICE ABOUT GETTING VIDEO SL. (IT DOESNT COME WITH THE RECORDING OPTION)

If you plan on getting Mix Emergency then I recommend getting a MIDI controller unless your mixer has MIDI plugs. If not I get an AKAI LPD-8 with your SL BOX

BUT if you have the 57sL then getting Mix Emergency would be able to read the fader and volume controls on the 57SL.

Like I said I have Both Mix emergency and VSL 2.0 ( hands down for recording MIx Emergency) but for non recording stick to VSL 2.0)
DJ-Phat-AL 8:58 PM - 15 May, 2010
was I asleep too long last night?
When was VSL 2.0 released?
PopRoXxX 9:39 PM - 15 May, 2010
^^^^^ hahaha!
djdaddydog 3:03 AM - 16 May, 2010
this might be off the topic, but i've been using ME for less than a year and haven't really looked back. but does the fader seem a little slower with the transitions than vsl? or am i buggin?
LectahMvp 7:15 PM - 16 July, 2010
You buggin' Daddydogg cuz I dont see any of that in your mixes bro!! CRAZY!!

But what sense does it make getting both when you can just use ME non-recording? I think you're just mad because you probably found out about ME, AFTER you bought the Video SL plugin lol. If you're gonna make a recommendation like that give us reasons for your opinion. From what the other guys said, ME runs smoother with better quality and more transitions. I have a ttM57L and i need to record stuff so...

I will soon be doing a comparison video or at least a demo video of the effects that ME does it will be visual. ME and VSL both have their good points. I use both depending on what I want to do. Recording is no big deal to me as I can do it with Screen Flow or ME which I might do a comparison video of those two as well cause what most people fail to realize is that ScreenFlow is like a mini version of Final Cut Pro with timelines and the ability to trim edit, add video and add text..but that's another story... I would like to clear up a lot of things that people really don’t know. I use ME for the effects and the text feature. VSL text is cool but you can only apply to the video left or right, with ME it's applied to the center screen which means its always visible. So what I do is put my DJ name in the center,,,fade it out so it's faint and my name is always in the mix... It’s really simple if you have been using vsl you get tired of the same effects so you jump out and buy ME and you feel brand new... I will make it a point to post a vid today when I get off work with just effects...
