All of my videos are encoded this way...didn't know anyone else was using it besides me :)

yeah I tried several methods including just encoding directly out of Vegas but found with workflow and quality that Sorenson Squeeze was the best choice for me.
I can work on several edits and export them via uncompressed AVI which doesn't take too long. Then batch encode them in Sorenson Squeeze overnight if needed. - OR - Use two computers that are networked and everytime I export a video from Vegas I could put it on the second computer into a "watch folder" and Sorenson Squeeze will automatically start encoding.

Al- Ill have to try those settings out. Just got 6 last week but have taken a break from converting videos. Spent about 2.5-3 months doing my entire collection with the old squeeze and those setting you gave me worked out great.
On side note be down in vegas in 2 weeks!

maaan, i need can not figure this out.

i set my folder for sorenson to watch, render the vid uncompressed, when it's done tho sorenson will not release the "squeeze it" button.
i've even loaded the vid to sorenson to see what happens.

i have tried all i can think of to make it work...nothin

The only oddity I've found with videos encoded with Squeeze is that (unlike most videos) I can't edit their tag information in Media Rage.

Squeeze will get my $$ after the new year. $800 when I want to buy a new mixer is a big ouchie at the moment.

oh yeah the preset is for Sorenson Squeeze, lol

Sorenson Squeeze is far the best utilitiy out there for Video at this time, Phat-Al's settings work great. Just make sure you have a couple beefy computers to let them re-incode. Took about 1.5 weeks to compress 4.5tb vob music video.

1.5 weeks.

Takes me about 7 to 10 minutes to render to mp4 from uncompressed avi.

i was testing this preset and the audio is set to 320 kpbs, 9600 hz, 5.1 channels and 16 sample size. isn't it supposed to be stereo?

crap... I just saw that mistake in my preset too...

it is the wrong audio codec is why.

Choose: Coding Technologies aac

it was set to: Coding Technologies aacPlus V2

Actually just checked some files that I encoded using that last preset I linked up here...

They show it in stereo instead of 5.1. And the bitrate was at 256 which is fine. The sampling rate was at 96.0 KHz / 48.0 KHz which is also fine. So if you did use this last preset with the current settings... you should be ok. But if you want to change the audio... change it as I pointed out in previous post.
