Hey All!! The new kid on the block, im an latin dj in the NYC, NJ area, i dj along side lot of turntable dj's that have ssl, they tell me i need to get it, which im considering, and thats what throught me here, as a cd dj i use american audio pro1000 and denon 6000 which most club carry, but as i read the threads, it seems like most features are for turntables, i know it works find with the cd players as per discussions, i guess i would like to see demos and tut's on cd's also not just vinyls..

scratch live seems to push the use of turntables. I use it with cd players and in my opinion they should have two versions of the program one for turntables & one for cd DJs. It bothers me to have all the turntables settings in setup. I think that if they would make a version for cd only it would eliminate alot of clitches when using it with cd players.
Don't get me wrong I love to use scratch live, but you will miss the control you have when playing regular cds .For example, when you press start in the beginning of a song, it is not at all cued up like when you play a regular music cd or when you cue up at a certain part of a song! It's not accurate! The cueing needs alot of work for cds.
another problem is when you press the loop A and want to hit the part a couple of times, it is delayed. it will not start at your cue point! but other than that it,s great to have so much music without cds. In 3 seconds you can find a song and have it ready to play!!

DJ RJ is right on the money. I miss the effects from my American DJ Pro 1000 and ADJ Velocity, plus the accuracy or lack there of, makes me be on my top form, so that the unwanted 1/2 second of blurp (inaccurate cue) blasts through the speakers.
Other than that, I don't miss carrying (many cases) or having to sort through my Cds, which gives you more time to do other things (your choice of many other things we do as DJs).
Being able to find a song by three or four letters is awesome, but also SL allows you to never have a song skip (from scratched CDs) or change songs faster than ever before, if needed.
