I was at www.djtechtools.com looking around when I saw this picture of a VFX-1 with a Horizontal layout?
I must have missed something, my VFX-1 has a Vertical Layout.
Are they releasing a new model or option for VFX-1??

It looks like an overlay to me - just a new plastic card placed over the old one. Everything is still in its normal place, including the locations of the effects on the selector knob, but you can see the overlay is just laying on top of it.

Yes I think You are correct.
I think I may prefer the Horizontal layout.

Hmmm, the depth knobs parameters ARE turned sideways though...strange.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. If it's just an overlay, the hash marks are misleading. I'm still thinking it's an overlay, and they messed up the marks.

The more interesting thing from that video is it appears they also have some form of stand for the VFX-1 now, too, to elevate it when placed horizontal at the top of a VCI-300.
Additionally, it can't be just a new overlay. The depth knob, for example, has been rotated 90 degrees. That is not an infinite encoder knob, so simply rotating the artwork 90 degrees would not work.

there is no proof that the knob is rotated and the dots on the overlay is 'off' and it says 'new silk prints design' as in 'silk screen ' printing

I dont have the vestax but it looks better that way but some people dont mind the vertical as long as they have FX! once u get use to something u will like it, Even if it was upside down (J/K) lol

Dammit! Figures as soon as I buy a VFX-1, a month later they come out with a newer one.
I'm actually fine with my vertical VFX-1, aligns nicely right alongside my VCI-300. I think if you're used to the layout of the vertical one, it works just fine.
Horizontal layout does makes more sense, left and right is easier to think of in terms of which deck you're applying an effect to.
I'll have to decide if it's worth selling my current VFX-1 to get the horizontal one.
