Build Overview Problem

prymetyme 6:00 PM 4 October 2006
I've notice that when i add new tracks & start the build overview it doesnt seem to read all the new tracks i just added, it only reads less then half of them. I tried to click on the build overview button again but it says that "all overviews are built." I even tried to reboot the computer but still the say problem. I can tell which tracks havent been overviewed because they are the one without the "length" & "bitrate" filled in. I have to manually fill the rest of the tracks that the build overview doesnt read.

Is anybody else having this problem & is this gonna be fixed on the next update?

my setup - ttm 57sl, cdj-1000, serato ver.1.6.2

This is how it works now, not a bug, but a feature. If you want all of your tracks overviewed (even those which already have built overviews) then you have to CTRL+click on tha "build overviews" button.

okey so does that mean it will build overview all my crate again....thats gonna suck. is there anyway it can just overview the ones it missed?
nik39 8:22 AM 5 October 2006
Huh? Thats what happens if you click on "build overviews"... I think I dont understand your problem.
boabmatic 10:20 AM 5 October 2006
Nik, I think he means ....

added say 100 new tracks
clicks build overviews
only 75 overviews built

leaving the 25 with no overviews which he cant get to build the overviews for..

Prymetyme, if this is the case you could order the tracks by 'length' then highlight the ones with no time shown then drag onto the build overview button to force them to build the overview.

not sure why they never built in the first place though???

wow!!! thanks boabmatic, that saved me a whole lot of time. is there any reason why this occurs?
boabmatic 12:06 PM 5 October 2006
don't know, maybe best to re-post this in the help section as you'll get more people reading it...
nik39 12:49 PM 5 October 2006
What kind of tracks are these? Maybe they already have some overviews stored?
cMo 1:43 PM 5 October 2006
nik - this happened to me too. I had all my overviews built, yet when I was playing in the club, one of the tracks I loaded up had no overview.

Granted, it was an isolated incident, but still one slipped under the radar and I noticed it.

Hm.
aiRBaLZ 8:28 PM 9 October 2006
I've experienced what cMo describes as well. I just played the song at let it build its overview and it was fine. But it wouldn't build the overview when I selected "Build Overviews" - it, for whatever reason, thought it was already built. Go figure...

Things that make you go "hmmm".
aiRBaLZ 8:44 PM 9 October 2006
Definetely... things that drive a programmer crazy too...

Same here even the time/length of the song gone
