Dont tell me your gonna play it like that, in that order are ya?
papsworth 6:04 AM - 2 October, 2006
dude. i don't know man. living on a prayer to hips dont lie? lose control to you give love a bad name?

and how is milkshake 118 bpm? it's more around 113. not trying to nit pick but that seems way off.

i mean i play living on a prayer everytime, and hips dont lie, but...
djskeetz 6:08 AM - 2 October, 2006
i guarantee you will not follow that list.
djskeetz 6:16 AM - 2 October, 2006
lol. you are going to quick mix all 176 of those songs? you are insane. good luck!
proffesor ink 8:03 PM - 2 October, 2006
thanks for the feedback

3pm - release is a house track when it breaks, turn off power and drop the 911 song pretty easy transition

fada - that was an actual set played like that in that exact order. it was taken from the review section in serato and then i highlight all and drag into a new crate. it keeps the order of the songs.

paps - living on a prayer is a banger for the rich white kids at the sports bar (i hate it, but it works) after playing 5 rock songs, if i dont play a latin all my spanish crowd gets anxious, so i start with the most commercial spanish sound i can and then ease into a little salsa, then back into the reggae which leads to the hip-hop. keeping everyone happy and involved, all the bpms come from the mp3 files which were done by mixmeister. maybe my version is different, but it is hat it is. i am speeding the songs up or slowing them down to mix, the bmps listed are only the strating bpms

djskeets - i'll take u on the guarantee, because it was done. ;)

keep them coming, and put on any playlists of your own.

my one crtisism of my own set would be not enough new music. i have maybe 15 current songs out of 176 in 5 hours. but there is not any hot new music that i can play at this venue, so i dont. got play for the crowd.

as for mixing fast. yep, mostly one verse and out. how many times can u hear baby i got your money?????????????
Izzy 8:58 PM - 2 October, 2006
Nice variety... I know how tough it can be, playing to such a wide demographic.
djskeetz 9:00 PM - 2 October, 2006
i dunno, i figure it was a bar not a club, maybe drunk people at a bar might want to hear their favorite second or third verse. but im not a bar expert, so if it worked for you keep doing it big doggie. maybe A-swift has some input, he DJ's this gigantic bar in anaheim.

prof ink, your the first person i know to follow a playlist song for song, and have it work out for you in a positive way. im glad that it is though, but do you do that in the club also? i hope not.
djskeetz 9:02 PM - 2 October, 2006
oh ya, prof, how much does a gig like that pay? 3000 Square feet is pretty nice chunk of land.
proffesor ink 10:05 PM - 2 October, 2006
skeetz - it ONLY pays $300. they dont charge a cover and the average drink price is $7 which for NY standards is cheap.

as for this list, i play for the crowd, it is ALL IMPROV, i just created this list from my actual set using the review function in serato. I AGREE with u, it would be highly unlikely that if u created a playlist u would be able to play every song, especially in the order u anticipate. i could also agree with u about letting the song play longer, but i sell out a lot of ways, but that one stylistic thing i kinda stick with.

i would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see some other playlists, including the type of venue and the length of the shift. (rate of pay would be nice too)
djskeetz 10:26 PM - 2 October, 2006
ic. NY must be pretty tough. everyone in LA is a DJ. 300, for 5? shit, thats cool you put in hella work to quick mix like that.

yo prof, are you rock songs? are they extende or original? A lot of your tracks posted i saw are on the CPR and other comp series. ie....dont stop beliving, you give long a bad name, so forth etc.
DJ Stuart (AR) 10:38 PM - 2 October, 2006
I don't really like the songs, but i like your eclectic selection.

skeetz - now we agree, this is Cheasy as can be. but it goes across 7 or a geners. not easy to dj. have u heard dj AM or vice music selection??? if u have just curious what u think of that. maybe stuart was just trying to be nice. as for the extended, yes most have beat friendly intros A la LETHATL WEAPON or BANGERS FOR THE HEADBANGERS, but i also use some originals ;)

Hmmm. I see they have a store near me in Freehold. Maybe I should check 'em out.
DJBlisk 11:53 PM - 2 October, 2006
I like the music selection. Its as diverse as any AM, vice, etc, etc. dj playlist.

a caveat to this is: people love that sort of playlist only if they come for the DJ. If you just get wack people who wanna get drunk and fuck... you're fucked.
