I haven't bought scratch live (yet!) and I'm really interested in getting it. I haven't had a chance to play it yet though so I don't want to invest in something that I'm not going to use!
There is one thing I have to know before I buy it: Has anyone ever played the original final scratch? You know the way on final scratch you can't play the very start of the mp3? It just kind of jumps a few bars into it? Does Scratch do this?
Basically, can you play the first beat of a track on scratch live?
If you can't it slightly slows down beat matching and mixing because you have to find the first beat in the bar. It only slightly slows you down but it's very frustrating.

SSL would give Final Scratch a creampie and a dirty sanchez on the same night.

I wasnt so sure of it either before i got it, kinda was a bit nervous puttin the real wax down, but its fabulastic, imitates real vinyl to the nose!
Never used final scratch but i think that was made more for house, even with scratching SSL is fabulastic..

there are lots of problems with final scratch, that specific problem is sorted doing some setup changes.
serato is better tho, no doubt, and once you buy it, youll never look back.
youll also learn to love relative mode...

Eoin D,
There's NO comparison between the two PERIOD!!!
FinalCrap just does not work.
All these people are USING SSL www.scratchlive.net
If that does not answer your question and then some, I do not know what will. Cheers

i used to be a FS1 and FS2 user and always had problems , and belive me it looks really stupid when "the super FS crashes " in front of a crowd , I should have listened to what the salesman said in the first place , i have just got SSL since last week and played with no crashes, the only problems i had was , i had had to update my ibook to 10.4+ that was all
Go and buy SSL and don´t let anybody tell you anything else , belive me i found out the hard way
