can i buy the mixer by itself without the software or am i going to have to fork over another $1450?
Konix 9:08 PM 6 September 2006
The latter.

Software is included with the mixer. Fork over another 1450? I don't know who sells you DJ equipment but plug-in Serato is not $1450.

Most people, including myself, would probably recommend you to purchase a TTM56 instead if you already have an SSL box/software

I say get 'em both.

I have to say that or else I'd look pretty silly with both myself. =)

I don't know where you are shopping but 1450 is kinda high. I would shop around for a better price. I know i didn't pay that for mine :-) Also, having both isn't a bad idea. There is a post on the Forum detailing a nightmare one dj had by not having his SL1.
