Backcue slipping question

I'm going to try and ask this to the best of my ability... it's confusing!
When I beat juggle, assuming i start with the markers on my vinyl facing 12 o'clock, they slowly move along little by little. After a minute, the markers will be at 1, then continue all the way around slowly and completely different from their original start position and each other. This makes it really difficult to "eye out" the samples and beats I am juggling.
Has anyone out there had this problem and discovered what the source of it is? I will say, one of my decks is like 10 years old and is not in amazing condition. Works fine for scratching and mixing but I definitely notice that its more of a problem when juggling with serato than my younger deck.
I hope thats clear enough for someone out there to try and help me figure this out. I don't want to have to buy a new turntable and then find out I could have made a minor adjustment and fixed the issue.
Thanks in advance

is this with real vinyl? or only with ssl?
if it works properly without ssl, then there's probably something with the settings in ssl which should be checked.

Absolute or Relative mode?
If it's in Relative mode I would say you're being heavy handed and causing the needle to jump and loose position on the control vinyl.

my blunder... stupid q about real vinyl!!!
you're experiencing cue drift... check that you're in rel mode and that your calibration is done correctly.

I haven't tried it in absolute mode but that might fix it theoretically. I also noticed last night that my tonearm is a little loose. I think that could be it.
Another thing I noticed when trying it out last night is that it happens almost right away when I release the record from a stopped position. The virtual waveform jumps ahead just a tiny little bit and cuts off the first sample a little.
I'll try absolute and go from there. Thanks for the tips guys

yea it happens when i press the start button.
i did try it out in absolute mode and it worked perfectly. unfortunately i do all my mixing in relative and switching back and forth between the to can be bad news because of the way serato jumps around when switching.
ill just have to figure out how to transition between the modes more fluidly.

My homeboy had a similiar problem where when he would release the record, you can observe the track jump slightly forward. If you were looking at the waveform display, you may see it jump forward about 1/4".
This seemed to happen in abs mode though..
He has a pair of 8" speakers sitting on the table that his TT's sit on.
We figured out that the bass from the speakers was causing the table to vibrate and cause the jumpiness with his waveforms when he released the record. When we put layers of bubble wrap under each speaker, the jumpiness problem was minimized.
I dont know if that is the same problem you are having.. but if it is, you might want to try to isolate your TT's from the vibration your speakers are creating.
