What Formats should i use for my Video files that would work best

I would like to find out what formats would work best for my Videos....What format for Audio & What format for Video.

Someone told me to use H.264 or MPEG-4 for Video & AAC or MP3 for Audio.......

Any recommendations???

H.264 wrapped in an mp4 container for video. I like AAC but most users will say use a high quality rate MP3 file. Less possible issues with Serato that way.

From what I understand you can not have a mp3 in a mp4 container, its not spec. You could have a mp3 in a avi container though.
