BPM Counter that works with video

Timdelll 4:25 AM - 9 November, 2009
Hey all,
So I am trying to get my BPMs into my id3 tags. Mainly because since I started using iTunes and not crates I get alot of trouble with my overviews. I have a 50/50 shot arriving at work that my overviews are gonna be all there. Last night I had maybe 10% of them and for a DJ who searches via BPM......lest just say last night was a LONG night.

I am thinking that if I use a 3rd party app to read my BPMs and then get it to write it to iTunes I will at least always have the BPM (dont need anything EXACT) with me at all times via ID3.

I so far found a bunch on my own but they all SUCK.
-Mixmiester free BPM counter, hey it looks like it works but does not write to the ID3
-Accu and BPMer they suck
-Tangerine was the best so far but WILL NOT WORK FOR VIDEO FILES, I emailed them to see if maybe I am doing something wrong.
-found another widget that seems to work, it reads what you are playing.....cant do that 13,000 times

Anyone know of a useful tool for this that works?

Anyone think this is a stupid ass idea all together?

Hit me with it please

Tim

I use 1.9.2 with itunes and the bpm gets stored in the mp4 metadata so you can see it in itunes or any other program that reads the bpm.
Timdelll 5:17 AM - 10 November, 2009
sorry but what 1.9.2? and does it read video?
Timdelll 5:20 AM - 10 November, 2009
OH SERATO 1.9.2 HAHA upgrading now

No problem. I should have been more specific.

You will need to delete your old metadata files to get the overviews built within the mp4's to show bpm info within itunes.

also, you can write tags in ssl now and they will show up in itunes (the changes)

hey puma. what's the simplist way to delete the old metadata files?
djpuma_gemini 5:08 PM - 10 November, 2009
If on a mac go to the scratchlive folder and look at the metadata folder.

I wouldn't delete it just yet maybe move it to a different location and test out your files because you will lose all cues and loops for your videos (including overviews)

Not sure if there is a way to migrate the metadata into the mp4, but if you don't mind resetting your cues and loops than this is the quickest way.

Should be in the same location for windows when you find the .scratchlive folder.

my videos are all on an external drive. should i look at the SL folder on the external or the internal?
djpuma_gemini 7:05 PM - 10 November, 2009
external.
PopRoXxX 8:05 PM - 10 November, 2009
