I spend a lot of time traveling. 100% of the time, I get ideas for mixes, blends, or I just want to pass the time screwing around mixing in Serato (yes, it's totally possible via the keyboard and mouse, try it sometime). This usually happens when I'm on a plane and don't want the fuss of the SL box + cable .
If Serato and Rane want to maintain the security of their software via a required hardware, they can manufacture a cheap encrypted USB flash device that "activates" Serato when plugged in. This device could have an audio jack, or allow the sound to be routed through the laptop headphone jack as the offline player is.
Anyone else find themselves wishing for a functioning SSL on an airplane?
