That's the reason why i sent it out. It just put in a more verbal way (lawyer stuff)...
the service quote & contract is a great way of just adding that extra professional touch for all events..from private to clubs

what is a rider I have no idea I havent ever drafted a DJ contract I normally just require to get paid before I start the gig no money up front then I dont DJ. So can someone explain to me what a rider is?

Contract - arrangement for the supply of goods or services at a fixed price

Your contract should have stipulations of the venue(s), event(s) that you...roles that you'll be playing the day/night of the event.

The main stipulation of the contract for most artists/DJ's/performers....even celeb appearances is that the rider be handled to a T or within given parameters.

The Rider basically states: acceptable equipment, accommodations, food/per diem, transportation and conditions...

If the rider isn't fully met to the requirements or within the agreed parameters.... the artist/agent reserve the right to back out on the deal..... but I've only had to do that once in my life.....and hopefully not again..

It's just easier to keep track of everything with your bookings...who's paid you in full prior to the event...or who's paid the deposit..and at least you get a deposit..and if they cancel....you keep that $ bc the date was already locked in....and that's happened a BUNCH of times where we've kept the payment b/c they've called the event off.

I always negotiate outside of the rider depending on the event... If it's a bigger event and I'll have 5 people coming with me...then I'll just request a bottle.. if it's just me and my manager or agent... then I just ask for drink tickets... but most places just give a bottle.... and damn dude, I really wish the days of label runs were still around... I remember when I 1st broke in, I'd call and be like dude i'm stopping by.. we'd all go from the Def Jam building to Arista, then cross the St. to Sony..walk down and hit the BMG building..then end the day by driving down to Jive.... it was cool for face time with promo reps & A&R reps... and then someone told me: "just tell them to add you to the radio list." That saved a lot of time...but I still made runs to show face every now and again... and now all we get are: EMAILS, digital EPK's, New Music Thursday's, eFolio accounts and download cards.... the game has CHANGED! dude let's get up sometime.. I'm basically gone till NYE, but even if we grab a drink and chill M-W let's do it!

Umm you ask for $45.00 USD per diem? Holy crap I don't even pay my installers $45 per diem for out of town jobs LOL. And they are doing physical labour!

hahaha. Dragon, $45.00 per diem is pretty much the standard within the entertainment industry..if you think about it this way..IF they opt for per diem and not food vouchers/arranged meals with vendors, then I'm spending at least $20 on the low end!
At 4 - 5 meals a day, that adds up. I HATE doing the fast food thing whenever I'm on the road...

I dunno, I've never charged per diem.

I've just upped my out of town rates by 20% (and I don't do x 1.20, use /.80 there is a difference between mark-up and margin) to cover small stuff like that (food, cable replacement, hotel room porn LOL).
