Wow, discovered an interesting *feature* last night while messing around on my iBook. I was mixing using the 57 with my music only 'DJ' user account but wanted to switch over to my normal user account to grab some audio tracks I got from a local band.

I used the fast user switching option that OS X has and didn't think about, but the music just kept on playing even though SSL was running on the user account in the background. I even had vinyl control and the ability to jump to markers using the buttons in group 1.

This was an odd discovery, I wasn't sure if Serato/Rane was even aware of this.

I dare you to try that when playing to a crowd :-).

Definitely an interesting finding....but what I'm most curious about is why you made a "music only 'DJ' user account"...was it to fix some issue or just out of caution? Seems like the sort of thing Windows users are more likely to do.

the main reason was to keep the itunes library seperated. of course, i also have a seperate desktop picture and dock but its mostly for the itunes library (since i use an external drive for my music).
