Hi,
I have selected the Dance box with in the Music Genre section in my profile, but it keeps sending me R & B releases. Am i doing something wrong?
Also, how do you filter by genre when searching on the Download section of the Website? If not, can you filter any of the downloads?
Thanks
Dan

Hi Dan.
You can enter a music genre into the search box and it will filter Releases to those that match the genre.
As for receiving R & B releases, to some extent it's up to the labels to decide which groups to send Releases to. I suspect that the R & B releases you've been sent have been sent to 'all DJs' as opposed to a genre based group.
Is this is a big problem for you?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I'll be honest, i find the Search box pointless. If i put 'dance' in, it comes up with 'dance' and 'dancehall' tracks but it also seems to bring loads of other stuff up becuase people can select multiple genre's when putting up a track..
Can you not put more specific genres in and make it so you can only descibe a tune under one genre, ie. Trance, House, Hardcore, Dubstep, R & B, etc....
Also, can you add in a drop down filter list, so when you select a genre it only shows that one and not all others with the same name in the title. (As per with Dancehall and Dance in my above example)
If the releases are more specific, i think you will get more people subscribing to the newsletters. I canceled mine after 2 weeks becuase out of all the 6 e-mails i received, non of them had any music genres i was actually interested in.
It might be worth looking at other record shop's filtering and newsletter systems (Such as www.juno.co.uk and www.htfr.co.uk) as i find these really user friendly and I always get e-mails on the music genres i am interested in.
I hope you take on board the above comments because until it is improved, i won't be re-subscribing
Thanks
Dan

I completely agree. This website is a fantastic idea, but it's hindered by the lack of genre organization in my opinion.
I don't expect a genre filter anytime soon, but can we hope for one in months to come?

Cool, thanks for the feedback. We're working on some changes to Whitelabel for you which does include the ability to browse by genre.

I agree with all of the above, I'd like to be able to filter by genre and also by BPM range. These should be very simple changes on the backend. Also, I'd like an RSS feed based on my custom filter please.
At the moment, it's not worth my time and energy to find tracks on here although I'm sure you have some great releases.
Keep up the good work.

I would like to see filtering by all the variables, bpm, genres, remixes, record label etc.

Has there been any updates to White label yet? I've never heard anything at all since it's release... I can't beleive it would be too hard to introduce a few extra filters..

Yes, the next update will be the third. The first beta was really basic, we were just trying out the concept.

+1 for filters.
At the moment I think I probably get 1 relevant email out of 40 useless ones and this whole system is starting to become really spammy. If I can't get something in my region why do I get the email???

You shouldn't be receiving emails for Releases that you can't download.
Can give me a couple of examples of Releases that you've received emails for that you can't download. I'll check it out - sounds like a bug.
