Therefore, I am thinking of investing in some active monitors. Anybody know any good deals. These are going to be for my bedroom so I don't need anything highly expensive. on a side note: does anybody have a used one or used pair they don't want?

i have a pair of JBL powered speaker, and they work good, but there kind of exspensive. one the speakers blew and i got a behringer b300 it works good and its not that exspensive

If you consider those Behringer B300 unexpensive, I really wouldn't want to know what's expensive to you... ebay price going for $850 a pair WOW!

I Got one brand new for $250... Thats Cheap To Me
the only bad bad thing about them is the weight...

There are some active monitors at Guitar Center right now for $99 a pair. Not great but they will work for the bedroom provided you're not wanting to do any production/studio work.
