I recently had a power surge error at a gig. I think the problem was caused from a USB light that I own. I have stopped using the light but I still randomly get usb power surge errors (stating that the power has been exceeded) even when there are no devices connected. Any ideas on how to fix this? Once it happens my PC wont read any usb devices. When it occurs I get a pop message saying to unplug the device and hit reset. This is the same list that appears in device manager and it shows a yellow question mark with an unknown USb device even though there isnt anything plugged in.
I have already uninstalled all my usb ports and let them be re-installed. Anyone else know how to fix this? I heard that there is some sort of patch that may help.
Im running a T43p IBM thinkpad with windows xp sp2.
