Is there NO pitch control at ALL?

I like using my CD's because I can adjust the tempo without affecting their pitch when using my CDJ's and mixing 2 tracks with totally different BPM's.
Should I just stick to them since Serato doesn't seem to have a master pitch control? I've read here that you can't use the CD players' master tempo button 'cause it produces skipping.
So the only benefit of Serato is not having to haul my vinyl and CD's around? Or am I missing something?

There are other creative benefits, but I can't name them all since I'm not the most creative person on this board. People seem to get a kick out of Relative mode. Check out some DJ AM videos - he does a "demo" of how he uses Relative mode.
They're working on master tempo for Serato. I read somewhere that they want it to work just as much as we do, but they're not going to put it out until it works to their standards.
Master tempo or not, I'm fuckin with Serato all day son.

You'll definitely find the benefits as you keep playing with it... or not, if you're a microwave dj. :P

what you don't know? 1. it dices and slices 2. you can paint a room with it in 45 min 3. become a globetrotting dj in 6 seconds flat 4. makes you fluent in spanglish and most importantly 5. you get the respect that your mom didn't give you before.
hope that helped.

I use the denon x1500 mixer and it has key effect that works like pitch n time. You might want to try a external efx unit to mixer for now .
Hope this helps.

Kind of wierd as I thought the mixing was the skill.
I like the benefit of not ruining my $100 records which I'll probagly never come across again. Oh, and having two copies.

No, Serato doesn't have a pitch lock - but Final Scratch does. It's the ONE feature that holds a few people onto the 'other' product. That being said, you usually have a 4-5% pitch swing you can work with without it throwing off the pitch by enough to get annoying. You can try limiting the pitch swing you're trying or just use CD's for those larger jumps (and the master pitch control).
I'm sure they're working on pitch lock and midi controllers for SSL... those two things alone will stop a LOT of the requests I have!

imo all this about FS having it is crap
i have got FS and when it did work (very occasionlly) the key correct, pitch correct or what ever it was called was utter shit there is no way i could have used that whilst in a club cause if i tried i would have been escorted from the dj booth
i have only had SSL since monday but after using it quite alot over the 3 days i have caame to some conclusions.....
when this feature is available for SSL at least it will work!! so be patient cause there aint no point in having it if it wont work (TFS)
and in the words of nik39
