Please get rid of decimal point in FX

I have posted this a couple of times in other discussions, but thought I would start a thread to make sure it does get seen. I am very happy with the 57 (though I have had the USB dropouts as mentioned by numerous people on this site and I am confident that it will be fixed in future updates), however one of the reasons I couldnt wait to get this was for the internal FX, hoping I could quit lugging my Pioneer EFX 500 around. Here is the problem I have with the decimal points in the FX field. When you are in a hurry (speed mixing, whatever you may like to call it), there is enough going on to have to spend valuable time trying to toy around to get the bpm field accurate, you can get in the ballpark by tapping the button but when you try to scroll to the proper BPM, go too slow and you are waisting time, go too fast and you will jump up 10 or 20 complete BPMs. If the decimal point was not there you could get close, within 2 or 3 usually of the proper BPM and then simply scroll 2 or 3 clicks and boom you are right on. There are several reasons to have to adjust the BPM on the fly and not rely on the original BPM. One would be when you play funk and soul or rock where the tempo changes. Another would be something I do with my EFX 500 and that is, say your at 125 BPMs and you need to slow down, maybe your going to 90 BPMs, I can put my EFX at 90 even while playing at 125 to echo out to the slower tempo and then mix or cut in the new song to avoid any dead air. That is just a couple of examples. I know everybody has their opinion and their own mixing style, so this is not to start a bunch of bickering, but to improve an already great product. I would not expect the button on the mixer to be more accurate as that is just the way it is built and it is fine. It seems it would be very simple to change this in a software update. I dont know anybody who BPMs their records in decimal figures. Within a beat or two is fine, but it does need to be close when, for instance, using an echo and mixing into it. I hope this long explanation made sense.

You can also tell the mixer to follow the bpm of the "new" track with 90BPM.

track bpm function (provided you have bpm filled in your id3). assign it to a button.

nik39-THanks a lot! I still don't really see the need for the decimal point (unless that helps keep the tempo in tune with your pitch control). But I finally get it! A couple of other people had made suggestions but it was your comment that shed some light on the situation for me. I think part of why I didnt comprehend in the beginning was that the track bpm function would not work for me in the FX page. (I dont have a foot switch and none of the other functions are assignable, they are preset), but when I started messing iwth the track bpm function in page 1 I got it. It was something about your comment of the "new track" that shed some light on it, like a lightbulb went off in my head! So thanks again. Also thanks to skinnyguy and nobspange for previous advice. Now if we can just get 1.6 versions as solid as the earlier versions!
