Duplicates tracks in ITCH

I have a folder called House I dragged and dropped that folder in iTCH, It did create a Crate called House, Now if I go and add more tracks into that folder and then I drag and drop that same folder in itch to update it, it will create Duplicates tracks. I am having a hard time organizing my library. Please show me where are the good steeps to avoid this issue?
I heard about Scratch tools, it is required for updates?
I also deleted some files from my mac, how can I can find them all in once and delete them from itch library as well? How can I clear all played track in once without going day by day or month in history?
Thanks in advance.

lots of questions :)
to delete played tracks in you scrachlive or serato folder there is a history folder ... just delete that database in there.
as far as dragging and dropping your 'house' folder/crate --- when you ad new files to it drag it and create a new crate a delete the old one.
deleting deleted tracks in the 'all' crate click on the left most column then all the red tracks will be bunched together... delet them

I had the same issue, thanks for clearing that up kraal. Personally I was hoping ITCH would be smart enough to delete dupes when you update the folder.
Another idea for Serato is maybe you can set Crates to monitor a group of folders and automatically update and analyze new tracks when they're thrown in there. This would make updating crates so simple and intuitive.

thats why traktor is very good when it comes to importing and organizing music...they have that system down packed...I would suggest serato take notes from Traktor cause I'm not trying to diss serato at all, I'm just saying traktor makes it easy & simple to import music, and delete missing files...thats my 2 pennies

I tried to delete the missing files by sorting them in the ALL crate with the most left column, I removed all of them and then the next time I used ITCH, I went back to see in the ALL crate and found more again. (I didnt delte any track from my mac or rename or move folder) Do you know whets happening here? How I can remove them all in once. As DJ vision said, I think the same I love serato but when it comes to organizing library, it is unknowing.

I don't think it's a dis to point out that there is a GAP in the software. I actually like Serato's crate system. What i don't like is the fact that you have to constantly add songs to the library manually - unless using ITUNES. it's almost like they are pushing ITUNES. I'd like to see genre crates that are auto-updated at the least. that can't be too hard.

DJ Zou - Just uninstal & re-install ITCH. That should solve your problem.

I actually encountered this problem after upgrading ITCH (to 1.1 I think). I did reinstall ITCH and this fixed the problem. I am wondering though, when I upgrade to 2.0 will this problem resurface? I hope not, but I will be on the lookout for it.

I also am using the same method to load up recently downloaded tracks, and end up with a bunch of dupes. Still trying to find a good way to organize, and rename track, as beatport just puts it all together. I enabled the itunes library, and am wondering if I should just use itunes for all my unnamed tracks? I really have a mess.
Is it best to sort it out by hand, or to use d-rocs method of re-installing ITCH, to do it. Would that work? I am also wondering what will happen if I do re-install itch. Supposedly you are supposed to make a crate with all your tracks in it anyway as a backup (aren't you), so wouldn't you have all the same tracks anyway, negating this whole process. I'm a little confused here. Btw, I also have some tracks on an external Hard Drive.

So looks like I'll use Itunes, but Is there a way for me to transfer all my tracks, and still keep cue points, crates, and any naming I've already done?
Thanks.
Thanks.

you should not have to do all that! if you add a song or songs to a crate that already has that song in there itch will not add it again unless you given the same song a new name which then will be looked at as a new song.

just if you try to make a folder on your desk top and put files inside with the same name not gonna happen or will get some thing like "file 1" and "file 1b"
