The clip light tells you that the input signal to the amp is too hot. You need to turn down the mixer or whatever else you have plugged in or use some kind of compressor/limiter.

I think it would be cool if there were an automatic voice-over programmed into club amps that yelled "TURN THAT ISH DOWN" over the system whenever the clip light comes on. It should start off softly and get louder over time as the light keeps coming on, like a cell phone ring.

I think it means your sub cant handle the power & you better turn that shit down before it blows

I used to push 400watss into my 18's & hardly clipped
Now I bridged my amps & run 800 into each 18 & it'll clip

Whenever that red light comes on I adjust the base down a bit.....

it is excruciatingly painful to walk in to a room where the sound is piercing yours ears from the distortion, its a special kind of pain, that just centers right in the canal of the ear drum. to me it sounds like a fierce waterfall SHHHHHHHHH, with snares and kicks. it is terrible. i can't believe people dance to sound like that, drunks....
