as for your problem... are you sayin when you use SSL the sound comes out muffled?...did you make sure to have the correct setting set to "LINE" not "PHONO" ?

How long was your gig for? Did they pay you good? Mine was only for 4hrs it was quick but they paid me $300 for it.

Yes, everything was right from the software to my sound systems. It sounded like the volume it too loud but it's not. So what I did is I "almost" killed the bass but the mid and high is still muffled a little bit. I also checked there system and it never came too loud.

I don't do this all the time now because I have a full time job sometimes I work overtime here at my work (Network System Admin) I stop djying for a few years now but I miss it that's why once a while do gigs like this just to have fun. Been djing seens 1990 you?

Got my decks in 99. Had a run of half year consistantly as a club dj a couple years back and now I'm make a charge again to get myself back in the scene.

i try to bring my lighting as well.... kinda adds more to tha DJ ambience (sidenote: bring your business cards....always room for potential clients)

I used SSL, Vinyl and Cd for a 5 hr set of sexy house music with 3 breaks for rap/r&b?/reggae with the same vibe. I'll try and get some pics up as this was the first time I used SSL in a "mobile" setting(I havent done mobiles in 8 years but hang onto a small pa set up for things like this). PS SSL ran FLAWLESSLY in both ABS ans REL mode.

i playing at a girls clothing store in the mall all day yesterday and i'm doing it again today. i just bring a couple of EONS, i dont connect to theier soundsystem. i bring my TT, laptop, mixer and thats about it. i play all clean versions. actually, as a rule, i play all clean versions anytime there are children around, period. including weddings.

honestly, on the scale of shitty to great gigs, a clothing store in the mall is no where near as bad as it sounds. i think its actually pretty cool. it doesnt pay as good as weddings but i'd much rather do a clothing store than to do a wedding. downside of weddings also is they are at night and that messes with your club game. i did the clothing store from noon to 5, and made it to the club by 9.30 with ease.

Agreed. I've done clothing stores and it is nice to put some extra cash in your pocket TWICE in the same day/night. Also, I got extra gigs when people asked for my business card. Oh yeah, can't forget the good ol' discount for shopping there now. :)

nm? whachu talkin bout willis? you can expect $300 (maybe more) for spinning for an afternoon at the mall. although, i only got $200 but that was cool with me since I had a night gig too so overall i did pretty good for the day. i look at it this way, would i rather spin for a few hours, pass out business cards and what not or sit at home and do laundry on a sat afternoon? i'll take the spinning.
