Thinking about the 57...

Let's say I sell my SL1 and buy the 57...If a non-Serato DJ opens for me at a spot that doesn't have a 57 mixer, will I be able to use SSL?

Not sure I understand you.
Are you asking if you can use the 57 as an SL 1?

If so the answer is currently no, but there is a feature suggestion for this so if it's something you want go find the thread and add your support.

If you are asking can a non-serato DJ use the 57 as a mixer, the answer is yes. The 57 is a very good DJ mixer (slightly better than the 56)

I would probably hang on to my SL1 if I were you, just in case, as there are many clubs/venues that have permanent installs that make it impossible to bring your own mixer, and using the 57 as an SL1 box is not a very effective use of space.

But, after only one day with a 57, I would highly recommend getting one. They are DOPE!!!

Word... Yeah, I wasn't sure if you could use the 57 as a SL1 interface. So basically I'd most definately have to hang on to my SL1. Thanks fellas!

?

If the DJ before you doesnt have a 57, you can still use his SSL if you connect your laptop then. Was that the question? Or do you mean your mixer is hooked up at first, and he plays first? That is no problem as well, he just has to use SSL version 1.6 at least.

I meant if my 57 mixer isn't hooked up before he starts playing.
