Is this on your PC or your mac?

On the PC the process should happen like this.

Plug in the mixer, Windows recognises it as a composite audio device and installs built in windows drivers.

Start SSL, windows finds new hardware, put the CD in and run through the wizard. Answer continue anyway on the security warning.

If you've done all this and you're still having problems. Try the following trouble shooting steps.

Plug the mixer in and start up SSL
Open device manager and look under usb devices for the TTM 57SL, delete the device from device manager.
Unplug the mixer
close SSL
close device manager
plug the mixer back in
open device manager
look under usb devices for "composite audio device"
delete the device from device manager
close the device manager
Now follow the instructions above to reinstall all the drivers.

If you don't see either of the devices in SSL you may well have a problem. Did you buy your mixer in the UK? If so you can just send it back to the shop.
