'Set Video' to mp3 feature: where's that info stored?

hey, i Set Video to a crate of mp3s and want to erase that info from the files without having to CTRL/Shift/Click Set Video on every single mp3. What file is that info stored in in my ScratchLive or _ScratchLive_ folder? it doesn't seem to be the Database V2 file. Thanks.

apparently it's stored in the mp3. i deleted the mp3's from my ALL library in SSL to completely remove them from SSL. i ran id3kill to strip the mp3s of ID3v1/ID3v2/M3U/PLS (since i don't use tags anyway), dropped em back into SSL, rebuilt overviews and now there's no Associated Video. Success!

I'm curious about both:
1) why
2) how do you manage your library?

everything is named
artist- song (special attributes).mp3
or
Artist - Song (special attributes).mp4
and organized into to genre folders. i then run a ScratchTools Shell to:
--sync-subcrates
-- video --sync-subcrates
--associate-video (a different custom video to each mp3 genre crate)
--sort-crates
--delete-orphaned
i just drop an mp3 or mp4 into it's proper genre folder on my external, run my ST Shell and my SSL is beyond organized with everything having a video.
the issue i was having was somehow in the process of dialing my scripts in i locked up my mp3s so that when i ran the shell it wouldn't re-associate a different video. after stripping the tags and running the proper shell i can now associate a video, change the video in my ST Shell, run it again and the SET VIDEO in SSL changes to the new video.
took my awhile (thanks to nik39's patience and let me clutter up his forum) to get the scripts dialed in to do what i want but now organizing in SSL is non existent!!! if you don't use ST you should!
by the way if i wanted to get my tags back i can run MediaRage to 'turn file names into tags' since everything is named the same. MediaRage is also DOPE!

Very interesting to read different ways of dealing with library organization.
I also use Media Rage and find it very worthwhile. Though it doesn't seem to always do MP4 tagging properly.

There is no quick way to disassociate a video from an Mp3?

Is there a Scratchtools script to disassociate file?
My SSL keeps hanging up when I load an mp3 that is associated with a video file that no longer exists (i.e. happy new year 2011 video)... So I get through 2 or 3 videos, then it crashes on the next load. Now when I restart SSL, I have to do it all over again. FML

i'm quite frustrated with this as serato "cannot" "will not" order ever audio track by attached clip, for example if u set some mp3's to video u'd have to scroll your whole audio section in order to get rid of these..The bad thing it's all random and serato can't order every single attached mp3. This will create a huge amount of time to un-attach all those mp3's w/videos. That is a major fail :(

yup... doesn't work....

they do not group together... all the videos group together, all the audio groups together, and the mp3 with assigned video are dispersed randomly... would love to be able to batch unassign everything. Like I said earlier some of the assigned videos have been deleted, and they crash SSL when loaded.

I had to go back to 1.9.2 to get them to group up together. Then it was a bunch of alt+click(set video). You can only do a few at a time while the program rewrites the tag. I had a crash on me a few times before I finally made it through all of them. It would be nice (feature suggestion) to have an eject button for the video added to an mp3...like what they have with the sp-6.
Also wondering if a tag editor like Jaikoz or iTunes can remove that. I'll test that out later.

they shoulda just made a extra column to be checked as "assisgned" this way all those mp3's will be in order assigned. I don't think serato thought about how much time it would take to find every assigned mp3 nore even considered it. Cause i seriously have no idea how the hell everyone else unassigns there mp3's. I guess the best way is to remember what u had assigned but holy shit is that work scrolling through 100,000 songs or so.

holy shit...i found a way to group them as i just opened my serato. in the all audio section check "video track" now click the column video track at the top. Now you will see all the video tracks in order from which mp3's are attached. Now just un-attach them :) it's showing every single video track name that's is attached to mp3. Brilliant!

Yes, just embarrassing that I told you to do that before and you said it doesn't work:

I'm pretty sure I tried sorting that column both the "all audio" and the "all" crates... a few of them grouped together at the top, but the rest were spread out... will try again tonight. I'm on 2.1.1 with VSL 1.2

I'm using both latest versions and it's sorting them in order if you "check" video track then click the column video track at the top of the list once and it should order them all at the top by attached mp3.

i have no had problems since i upgraded it's been flawless in previous versions i had certain mp4's crash serato this upgrade plays them fine. good luck. practice before u go live with it.

Confirmed.... in 2.0.0 sorting by the icon column does not group the mp3s with videos assigned to them. All the whitelabels group together and the rest is random
DJ Tecniq
10:28 PM - 29 January, 2011
serato 2.2 doesn't do that. if you are scared to upgrade u could always upgrade to 2.2 then sort video track by column & unassign the clips from your mp3's and then downgrade back to 2.0 :)

Ok I have read this discussion and sorted by the "video track column" but how do I unassign all associated mp3's at the same time? Im still only able to load one track at a time and 'ctrl+shft+set video'.

You cannot it has to be done one file at a time unfortunately.
