no I like them alot. It takes less than 2 minutes for me to download a video. Maybe thier servers are slow right now. Try it later.

I haven't downloaded anything today but it never takes me more than a few minutes for a video. They could still be making more changes like the ones noted on the member's page or it's something wrong on your end.

remember they are working on getting more futures for the web site, so that might be the reason why is slow right now, but usually is fast and i mean really fast :) i get speed over 1.7meg a sec so i know they have good servers + good selection.

No work is being done on our servers today so it might be your point to point connection today. But like everyone says this is not something that's normal at all :-)

Strange. When I was using I was able to download 10 videos at a time near light speed.

Just spent about an hour with marx at Smashvidz on aim trying to sort my problem.
It seems there were some issues with my account name and resetting this stopped the error pages, also my download manager seemed to have some speed issues with the smashvidz website.
I can honestly say the support with Smashvidz is second to none.
Despite my angry start to this thread . I am now a very happy customer and would recommend them to anybody..

if you're wedding is in the hood, you're good to go. smashvidz is mostly urban.

I'm really tired of stuff like Best_I_Ever_Had_intro_-_outro_edit_-_Drake.mp4. Is is really that hard for them to put "Drake" in the artist field, and then "Best I Ever Had (intro)" in the song field?

I've found Smashvidz pretty much blows the other online services away regarding quality (both sound and video), and I've had no problems with download speeds. Only issue I have with their site is that the nested menus are a little tricky to select.

There was one video of theirs that had a corrupted soundtrack...I got a reply to my e-mail about it within a couple hours, and they posted a fixed version soon after.

Their tagging seems pretty much ok...I've run across a few that didn't seem tagged properly. Since I re-do all the tags anyway, I'm not too worried about it. Some of their years on the old stuff are way off...

Some of the 8th Wonder stuff is ok, but out of a recent batch of about 20 videos I found only one or two usable. Obviously very little attention is being paid to quality: besides often having just basically bad sound and video quality, I've found numerous audio glitches, really bad edits, and out-of-sync video. Oddly enough, that's the case on their recent upload of Lipps Inc "Funkytown"...it's way off and their lips definitely do not sync!

I'd happily pay 8th wonder more per month if they'd step up the quality.

When the hell are some of the older/reputable services (PO, Rockamerica) going to drag themselves into the 21st century and offer their subscriptions online? "Discs in the mail" is just plain ridiculous in 2009.

Yeah, I noticed that about the Funkytown video too. I wouldn't even call it out of sync, it just doesn't match what so ever. Not even close.

I could have made my own edit in iMovie.

I am still happy to see the funky town....It would be dope if a service was out there that did video like DMS does audio...a lot of hits, some remixes, and recurrents.

3- by posting here my problem was quickly resolved and I made sure this was mentioned (see previous post), and I am now very happy with Smashvidz service

Who is Bucther wit smash, 8th, promo? it's hard to keep up with. If referring to my comment I am a little frustrated with the sound and quality of the videos. I will say that I found one or two videos that I was happy wit but overall could be much better. Download speeds where slow but at least you have the bin thing so you can download and walk away. I tried 8th about 3 years ago and that was the main reason I left. I mean if they take the time to do the videos why not do them right lips don't match words on the song interlaced video. Besides it's the American way to complain about stuff your not happy with. My comments will not stop anyone from using 8th service it's cheap very cheap.. I am not alone on this anyway TGIF.

if your not on every week you will get lost in the releases. But like millz said you will see browsing changes coming here soon. Our main priority has been the quality of the video not how cool the site looks. But better browsing is being tweaked.

sadly, as we all know sometimes the size, quality isnt ideal for ssl.
for the price its a good way to get the "needs" covered until you can find a better copy.

I am stating the truth. Almost all of your releases come out weeks to months after the videos are released. Even the express issues. That is the main reason I won't subscribe. That and the fact that you guys really need to step out of the stone ages with your guys choice of font for chyrons and the ugly logo you guys use. Spend a little money, hire a graphic design firm and get modernize your look. It might work for the 50 and over crowd you have worked with in the past but the next generation is ready to take over. Need an example of someone doing it right...check out screenplays logo and font choice.

Also, if you look at the insults you guys get it is always about the same stuff. It is not about sound quality (although I still feel you guys are a little trigger happy with your compression and maximizing) or picture quality. It is about video release dates, dated look of your companies graphics, and the lack of a download site.

As I no longer subscibe to PO I can't say if it's changed or not but judging by Rebleguy's post oh well. All of the providers need to put videos out to us in a timely manner. As much as I hate to say this if a video is hot you can find it on 8th Wonder before you get it from PO and others for that matter. Shit that's only ten a month,,,,yet it has it's issues too. Promo Only is slow with videos and many many many many videos I've had to re-do the audio for them. This is time consuming to say the least!

PS. I'm talking about old videos. I'm sure it has to do with how they were encoded at the time as they are probably re-released with better audio.

I don't have a smash account, but I can say with certainty that their quality is better than any I've seen. I need to get up on their 3 month deal, but times are tough with mortgages and little gigs. (NM)

I just hate how hugemunges their titles are. Have they made any adjustments? Are the titles still filling up the whole video?

eyah my12inch has the worst chryons and the video quality is horrid.

took advantage of the 3 month deal...
things look great so far.
5-6 downloads at a time goin smooth, relatively fast.
and the can DL through IDM, which is nice.

they are ganna come out with an application that queries the downloads too, no more sitting and waiting. I love firefox.

if they'd allow full use of IDM id buy a years subscription!

That's exaclty what we built but its basically a turn key solution. Downloads will be directed to it automatically.

Other idms won't have much support as we want ours to be used. Sorry no that's not going to change. Way to many varibles involved.

The older videos have huge titles, the newer ones are smaller. But the newer font (I think it's "felt marker") looks kind of cheesy, as does having their URL at the bottom.

I'd place my12inch's overall quality somewhere between 8th wonder and smashvidz. Main annoyance I've had is that I needed to dig into Firefox preferences to disable text blinking because of their site.

I'd love to buy your stuff. That's quite the opposite of an insult.

well, I grabbed about 30 vids today in my first day of membership and I gotta admit
the quality is plush.
Id say a couple of grades higher than xtendamix, plenty of grades above most of the
8th wonder content (not all of em are messy from there though) & mymp3online.com

the content for a "pool" is great though.
most of the other pools just have singles, intro/outro maybe a few party breaks blndz

but accapella intro/outro, party breaks, extends ect ect,

I think you might have a internet connection problem, I used to have the same problem as you (many video took toooo long to download), but wen I downloaded them from my school, talking about a CSUN in California, it took a minute for every download. I know have downloaded all of their songs. you need better internet connection.

smashvidz and crooklyn clan work together since some of their remixers have ties with both sites. I would say its a A+++ and worth the membership

i wouldnt say they work together, more cc artist promote their remixes through the smashvidz website. Correct me if im wrong.

If anyone is having any problems with download issues, please shoot Smashvidz@Gmail.com an email. Depending on the size of the video files being downloaded, I average 1-3 minutes per download of Xtendz.
