2X Tech 1200 MK5's

Of Course, the TTM 57 SL.

Hard to see but on the right is a Red Sound BPM Auto Counter and headphone Amp.

HP dv5000 Notebook

Homemade desk with brushed steel fence pipe racks for my vinyl.

Home made Stackable interlocking crates for my vinyl’s

SKB Battle Cruiser case. Pop the lid on and I’m off to the show.

And the same Dj painting by BUA that I think every Dj in the world has or knows someone who has it.

Post your setups here as well! i want to see how people are setting up there decks in there studio/home.

OpenOptics 7:57 AM - 17 July, 2006
For realz, I try not to leave. What you guys don't see is that behind the chair, it's completely open and that there is actually a good amount of room between the desk and the door. Oh, and my homie got on top of my turntable cases to take the pic.

jizzer 1:08 PM - 24 July, 2006
Dj C4 - I love those homemade stackable crates! Did they take long to make? I need about 50 of 'em lol.
Dj C4 1:40 AM - 27 July, 2006
hahaha well they took about a day to make those three and design them but now that i have a template you can build em pretty quick. Jsut some nice solid sheet wood i bought from home depot they had on sale. i think the 3 crates cost me about 25 bux in materials. the table is made out of the same wood, that cost a bit more.

Dj KaGeN 8:35 PM - 16 August, 2006
isn't that a standard tri-fold stand?
hologram 8:41 PM - 16 August, 2006
its the standard trifold stand on the left and the desk on the right.

I have one of each of these.

This one is ine the picture.

www.odysseygear.com

Way more room underneath on this one but it's metal to floor so be careful when you're at a spot with nice floors. IE I have wood floors this stand does not come into the house.

Haha, I see you have Acid Pro open, what 'cha workin' on?

I bought it used for 40 bucks, it's from Ikea & it's called JERKER. as with all ikea stuff you can buy the extra keyboard holder, the extra speaker shelves & also the stand underneath to put the pc.
Acid pro is for voicing dubplates, mixtapes & remixing stuff.

Leave you PS3 on the screen, stop braggin.
Trauma_j 12:44 AM - 22 March, 2007
lmao yea it is for demonstration mainly..looks cool when mates come over n shit though. irony is that i mainly use the mininote laptop at the end of the mixer for serato which doesnt quite have enough space on its 8" screen! haha

note:
there will be no ps3 in my setup! 360 all the way for me my friend.

Also the PS3 is in the 1st wave of games (remember the 360 first wave) wait until next year when they REALLY learn how to use the processors...Woooo Hooo...sorry for getting off topic!

I always thought they should make several colors, like red, grey, white, etc...

It would be the best for the aux/booth/master, because I could color coat them to know what was what, since everywhere I go the connections are different and I plug them in different. Sucks when I go to turn the monitors up/down and change the level for the whole club....

But If I had a red knob I could stick it on whatever the master was, so it would be like a stop sign.

So Niro... what exactly is involved in the modification?
are you removing the original face plate and modifying it, or are you having a new faceplate machined and decaled?

I would pay to get one :)

I do have the odyssey one. I like it ease of set up on every gig and specially on smaller venue. I have some extra pads onto the mixer so it's pretty secured.

Oh ok. I see that you have the older model before they offset the laptop stand........I assumed it was the marathon model because my 57 fits snug without pads. Why is your's so loose? Did you get the 12" mixer model instead of the 10"?

cool thanks, I just have a regular case without the built in stand. I like it but I don't like putting together the laptop stand every night.

Where does the built in stand hideaway too? Does it go over rear of the mixer?

thanks again, i'm probably going to pick that thing up in a little bit.

It goes over the mixer and slap on that cover. When setting up take out the cover, slap on the laptop, power then signal viola.

Cool setup man. I like the way you've managed to integrate a desktop computer in cleanly. I also like the disco style tables.....don't see that much on here. Not to mention the red efx-500 to match mine. Gotta love the limited edition.
Dj Blaze 2:42 AM - 5 September, 2007
i love the way you set your monitor to this side, it makes for a great way to see the action and less need to want stay focused on the audio waves.

How did you get the monitor to mount like that and does it detact for mobility, where did you find the monitor and the mount? Also, are you using a computer tower or is it just pluged into your laptop?

We must see more, take some more photos....
Dj Blaze 2:47 AM - 5 September, 2007
This was a great idea by the way miamidj... I would like to use your creativeness like a video monitor for when the video update comes out. This way i could at least see the videos i'll be mixing.

Allrighty then....

Yes, the lcd mount does detach. Here is the lcd arm I have www.ergotron.com. I purchased mine at Amazon.com for about $115.

To mount it I drilled a hole between the turntable and the back of the case. The arm mounts using the grommet option (long screw bolted on the bottom of case with wing nut).
i69.photobucket.com
i69.photobucket.com
i69.photobucket.com

The lcd is a 22" so I had to add a 1" board (not shown in pictures) for the arm to sit on for some extra stability . You can use any lcd that is VESA compliant (pretty much most newer ones are). The lcd is mounted to the arm with 4 thumb screws so it is easy to put on and take off. Mobility is definitely not a problem with this setup.

You'll find no tower or laptop in this setup! Here is what you'll find..... s69.photobucket.com

Thanks for taking the time to give some more info/pics and in a timely manor, WOW.

I have been looking around and i will eventually be doing the same thing, but i think i will wait a few more months, after doing some pricing this addition will not come cheap... Although, I will probably talk myself into it soon, i seem to know how to sweet talk myself. Does anyone else have that problem?

Great set up though, its neat to see how others are doing it, haveing a rackmout pc is a nice touch too and upgradeable which im sure is nice.

Pretty common phrase actually....turntables in that position are called "standard style" "regular style" or "club style" as I'm sure you know. Well clubs used to be called discos here and still are in a lot of europe, thus "disco style." It's probably a more popular way to describe that position over the pond.

Ironically, the most famous of all DJ battles is put on by DMC which stands for "Disco Mix Club."

I usually use this setup with my 57. I'm gonna switch back to using my mpd24 though. The NanoPad is very responsive and slight movements or bumps can trigger off the pads. I know the 57 does everything but I find it difficult when mixin with videos. That's why I use a controller.
